SheCodes Coding Workshop Reviews

My name is Aniago Somtochukwu Anita, and I recently completed SheCodes Plus. I enrolled in the program because I was looking to enhance my skills in Frontend website development, and I am so glad I did. The course was incredibly well-structured and provided me with practical knowledge that I could immediately apply. The interactive lessons and hands-on assignments helped me deepen my understanding of JavaScript, and the support from our instructor Matt was outstanding. Thanks to this program, I now feel confident in API, and I have already started applying them in my personal life. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to learn more about JavaScript, GitHub or API.

This part of the SheCodes workshop was quite a welcome challenge, I got to see the code come to life with both the API integration and hosting it on Netlify.When I got to the final project where I needed to add forecast data, it seemed quite daunting, but with the explanations given in the video tutorials by Matt I was able to find a way to make it work and understand it.

Good basis of more technical knowledge. However I rated this poorly because you don't learn how to actually do the final project by yourself. Matt even says numerous times in the final week's videos that the skills needed aren't taught in the course and you'll need years of experiece to learn how to do properly.

Loved this workshop! I have been "studying" Python before, but it was fun to apply it practically and learn how to build a weather app. As always, Matt is a great teacher and the videos make it easy to follow along.

SheCodes has been a transformative experience. I thoroughly learned new skills and concepts that have boosted my technical abilities and web development understanding. The responsive add-on course teaches you a few more techniques and allows you to dive even deeper into responsive by giving you the opportunity to build an entire responsive website from scratch. It allows you to use all of your previously acquired skills and put them into action. The course is definitely challenging but I like that you have the option to build your website alongside Matt or do it completely on your own without watching the videos in advance. It is a lot of learning but it is also a lot of fun to be able to build your own website and see it come to life on screens of all sizes.

Another great workshop! Learning React and its components is complicated but fun! No way I could learn react without Matt! He's explains everything so well, step by step! I can't wait to learn more techniques and more advance react!

The learning materials in this course are incredibly helpful, and Matt's instructional videos are so clear and well thought out. Oftentimes I found myself asking "But what about..." only for him to later cover my question. The clear explanation, practical examples and Slack support make it a great starting point or refresher for HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals.

Just finished Responsive Add on, and I can't believe I actually built such a complex multi-features web page myself! It really helps with development of attention to details and care of the design features, and it was very interesting to learn how to make it responsive for all the devices. As a nurse, I never thought I'd find myself coding! But the SheCodes Beginner program made it incredibly accessible. The lessons were short, succinct, and crystal clear, making it easy to fit into my busy schedule. I was very sceptical when I started with Python, I was sure I will not enjoy this as much as learning about JavaScript. Well, here I am with a finished project and a new found love for Python. This was so fun and rewarding and Matt did a wonderful job as always explaining things in the best way and offering a lot of information on why and how we are using specific expressions. I would say this was my favourite workshop so far.

I really loved this Phyton course, I didn't had any experience in Phyton and I could follow all the classes and complete the challenges. Congrats to Matt and the whole team!

I really enjoyed this workshop, though I felt a little out of my depth at times. The project is fun and I ran out of time to explore being creative but it's great following Matt's videos as it progresses.

This is an awesome course. Matt explains everything in a clear and concise fashion, and the structure of the classes is very well thought-out. I started my lessons with SheCodes last year, and it took me longer to finish the basics course due to work commitments. However, I am finally done with the first part. I bought this course as a try out run in coding and I did enjoy it. Matt explained everything perfectly and easily to understand. The SheCodes Basics course was to the point but also very detailed. Within weeks I've become familiar with something I had no knowledge of, and could confidently put into practice what was taught. I wasn't sure what would come of the "Basic" class, but I surprised myself on the final project. It can be a bit overwhelming if you are new to this like I am, but I took it in strides. Matt makes it easy with the lessons being very short and to the point. These classes make it suitable for anyone to learn on their time. I figured I would try the first course and see how it went -by week two I signed up for all the classes. Really looking forward to my future.
