I really enjoyed this introductory course to coding by SheCodes! As someone without any prior knowledge of how coding works, I appreciate how Matt makes the content very accessible through bite-sized videos and challenges at the end of each lesson for us to apply the skills we learnt.
SheCodes Basics Workshop is a great way to get started with coding: tuition for The Basics is a great value, participants' assignments are reviewed by humans and, with Slack, there's quick help with questions. I like Matt's calm, easy manner. He shows learners that coding is something most everyone can learn and reminds us that nothing we do in coding class will cause our computer to explode π©βπ»--useful advice if you're new to code!
The course has been amazing! It's organized in a way that's very easy to follow, even for complete beginners. I also really like the fact how Matt encourages you to explore things on your own even if they are not explicitly discussed in the initial tutorials. That gives us more opportunities to explore on our own, and it has helped me grow even more.
I was hesitant to dive into coding because I had the idea that it required a lot of math and a background in computer science. With SheCodes I learned that this was not the case. Anyone can learn to code! With the SheCodes simple and to the point courses and Matt's teaching it was very accessible. I would highly recommend SheCodes to anyone wanting to learn to code.
This was such an incredible challenging coding journey ever! But it worth it! I enjoyed making this awesome weather app and such wonderful team here supporting me through all the tears and triumphs. I would absolutely recommend this workshop to anyone! For complete beginners it can be overwhelming but you learn SO much in such a short amount of time. Matt is a great teacher in addition to providing you with an awesome radio to help you stay focused on lessons and homework.

This is a fantastic course! The content is laid out really well and I thoroughly enjoyed the challenges at the end of the lessons. Matt is very easy to understand and is very succinct yet thorough in his teachings. I was never interested in coding because I thought it was really boring and difficult to understand but becuase of Matt's course, I REALLY enjoyed it and actually had to set reminders to work on my other work projects as I found myself really engrossed in the creation process. In just 10 days I went from knowing nothing about coding to creating a landing page! I look forward to the next course, SheCodes Plus and building off what I know now to make my work even better! I highly, highly recommend!
My first fully functional Weather app! SheCodes Plus has been very challenging in terms of JS and API integration and also with managing my time. I am so pleased finally I have completed it. The good feeling I got from SheCodes is indescribable. Getting to know the Delac Foundation and participating in the foundation's courses has been one of the best events of my life. The SheCodes coding course is excellent and unique. I liked coding and always wanted to learn it. This course is so great that I fell in love with coding. I can say that this course is the best course I have ever taken in various fields. It is very regular, principled, and most importantly, project-oriented. The way Matt teaches is excellent and enjoyable. I am thrilled that I had the chance to participate in this fantastic course. Been wanting to learn to code for awhile and took the leap to join SheCodes. It's been a really fun experience. The lessons were bite sized and easy to follow. Matt explained everything very well. Wow, I have to admit it was tough! But really, really stimulating. It feels so rewarding seeing a real weather app, with real data, and fully functional, built with my own hands! I learned so much during this course, I started to get a bit more used to Javascript and I was even able to write stuff on my own in the final project, which I couldn't imagine I would be able to do. I also loved learning how Git works! There's so much stuff I need to learn better, especially from the first weeks; but I think what I learned until now is already so much, so I have to thank Matt for all of this!

Matt is a great resource! Thanks to Matt and SheCodes, learning to code is not as frustrating as I thought. I wish all people have access to coding and contribute great projects to the society.
I really enjoyed the course and learned a lot. I'm still not on the first-name basis with my JS functions, but, hopefully, I will get a better grip of them further on. My goals of taking the course were learning how to use an API and getting to know GitHub better. Both goals achieved, facilitated by excellent presentation from Matt, as always.
Matt teaches very clearly and there are a lot of resources available when/if getting stuck!
In these modern days it is hard to get in touch with something that has nothing to do with digitization, so the ability to have at least a small overview about the functionality of digital tools, programs or anything like that is highly recommended. The initial impulse to put wood behind the arrow and to get my journey with SheCodes started, was when I changed my job in October 2021 and became a PMO in a small company building software for global telecommunication enterprises... I wanted to support myself getting to know and understanding this completely new, very complex working area and simultaneously broaden my mind. And you know what? It was definitely worth it! Yes, it is challenging, but Matt has a very cool way to explain and show things, which makes it easy to follow him and to get the challenges done. The most fun thing of course is to build your own project where you can live out your creativitiy and see if you really understood what Matt taught you.
Honestly, to say that this workshop helps me a lot to learn the techniques from scratch. Coding is really fun for me after SheCodes. Thanks to the SheCodes team and mentor Matt for creating this wonderful platform for education and forming the community of amazing women.

A wonderful journey with SheCodes! As a website owner, I knew nothing about codes before. Every time there was anything wrong with the site, I called my developer frustratedly, because those codes look like Martian language to me. After the 3 weeks study and practice, I know the basic logic of codes and they looks meaningful to me now. Thank you, Matt! And many thanks to SheCodes staff and classmates! I put off learning how to code because for the longest time, I didn't know where to start! The format of SheCodes teaching is by far the best I've experienced. The learn at your own pace and in bite-sized chunks makes it easier to learn and somewhat addictive at the same time - you actually want to go to the next workshop to build on your knowledge. The fact that there is no fixed time for the classes and you can fit into your schedule is also great! I am shocked at what I have been able to create in just three weeks! Matt is a BRILLIANT teacher! I can't thank the SheCodes team enough for such an amazing programme (and I got it at a bargain - thanks Black Friday!) I really would recommend this course to anyone who has considered coding, but may not know where to start. You really won't regret it!
I got to learn how to build responsive projects in this workshop and it was super challenging so it took me a while to finish the workshop but it was super fun making my own responsive portfolio website! Thank you to Matt for explaining things clearly and the slack team for the support!

Before taking this workshop I had some (self-taught) notions of HTML and CSS, but it was really great to learn how all the pieces fit together and the order of it. Javascript was really fun to learn. I will definitely study it more, for I can see it has a multitude of applications. Matt is a great instructor, explains everything step by step in a very easy to understand way and follow along.
I would highly recommend doing the basic workshop. I found it really enjoyable, educational and the videos were incredibly easy to follow. This is my second course with SheCodes. I love the structure of this course - first you have the opportunity to learn from Matt through clear and engaging videos, and then you get plenty of practice through challenges and homework which test and grow your knowledge further. The Basic course was already incredibly good and made fun for more. That's why I followed the Plus course directly. In between it was really challenging and exhausting. I enjoyed learning the basics of coding including HTML, CSS and JS. Matt explained it so well and all the technical assistants were so helpful. I will definitely come back for another workshops. The lessons are broken in small portions and each has a practical task to do. And then when don there is a final task. Sometimes, you feel frustrated, but your course-mates and technical assistants are there to help you and feel better. So overall I really enjoyed course.
The React Workshop was the most challenging one. Since the beginning I was really excited to build something in this language, that's so required nowadays. So many ideas to do a really cool and interactive dictionary. Now that it is complete, I'm feeling grateful that I made it this far, and how SheCodes is helping to overcome my insecurities about coding and making it accessible. Awesome Basic Workshop! A fantastic beginning class, a great middle between challenging but attainable. I learned a LOT and can't wait to continue on to the other courses. Be kind to yourself and have fun and you will make it through! Matt's videos are easy to understand and follow--great teacher.

I learnt HTML and CSS in the early 2000s and tried my hand at being a front-end developer. However, I felt like an imposter and lost my love for it because I couldn't get my head around JavaScript. After discovering SheCodes, I admittedly took a few months to finally take the plunge to enrol but I am extremely happy that I did! The way Matt breaks down each concept makes it incredibly easy to understand and apply. I truly wish SheCodes existed at the start of my career β my life would be very different today if it did. It's never too late though and I'm excited to start the next workshop!

I'm a 23-year-old college 'dropout' who was lost about the career I wanted to pursue in my future. After discovering what computer programming really consisted of, and starting to learn it by myself, I found SheCodes and I am so thankful that I did. The community and resources available here are a blessing and Matt is a fantastic instructor, and I am excited for my future in the programming space.
I enjoyed this course. It was a really great introduction to the world of coding and I enjoyed Matt's style of presenting information. The challenges after each lesson were a great way to practice what you were just shown. And the final project really wraps all the lessons into one final piece. If you are interesting in getting into coding or seeing if this is potentially something you want to get into, I would definitely recommend training with SheCodes.
Although I sometimes found it difficult to balance being a teacher and keeping up with the curriculum and deadlines, I am so happy that I decided to complete the 24 weeks of SheCodes bootcamps (from Basics to React). I enjoyed learning with Matt, and Slack is an amazing source of help. I highly recommend SheCodes to anyone interested in learning to code.
I am so glad that I followed my intuition to do the SheCodes workshops because I don't think I would have been able to learn all that I have learned in just two months on my own! This is now my third certificate and after working on my projects and seeing the potential of what I can now build, I am feeling confident on this new career path that I have chosen for myself. I am still amazed at how easily I was able to build all my projects along with my own online portfolio with Matt's guidance. Very challenging course but definitely a good jumping off point in which to begin learning React. Whilst the concepts are difficult and take a bit of time getting used to, Matt's videos are clear and the the documentation is very useful. This has been my final of the SheCodes courses (I've done the Basics, Plus and Responsive ones) and overall I can highly recommend this site to any girls out there that want to try coding for the first time, it's challenging but very enjoyable and you can feel proud of yourself for learning such a cool skill :)

I always thought coding was only for super tech-savy people. But when Matt explained that coding does not necessarily mean you need to be a super tech person, or even able to install your family'a printer at home, I am became brave enough to try my fist lesson. Interestingly, it turns out to be so fun! It helps me regulate my thoughts and emotions. The feeling of building something from scratch into a clickable website is so satisfying. The open sources are also very accessible, so you can learn a lot daily.
I started SheCodes Basic with very little knowledge about coding. After the 3 week workshop, I'm quite impressed with all I've learned. The lessons are well timed and organised, which made them easy to fit in a busy schedule. Matt explained everything perfectly and personally I didn't need any additional help, however if you need some, the SheCodes team is very accessible and ready to help you out. I love the experience I had so far and I will continue to learn and develop my coding skills with SheCodes PRO!
