As a 17-year-old finishing high school and aspires to become an engineer, this workshop helped open my mind and expand my knowledge to a world I never knew existed. I have been wanting to try coding to see if I liked it for a while but I was reluctant as I had no previous experience whatsoever with coding and I had no idea if it would be something I could actually do, or enjoy. I watched the SheCodes Video and decided that I would give it a try. Surprisingly, I enjoyed this 3 months more than I was expecting as the videos are easy to follow, Matt gives you great advice and if we get stuck, we can always count on the team to help us out on Slack. It was challenging at times, but also very rewarding when you get to see the result of something you have built. The project at the end was a lot of fun because we got to use an weather API. Hi! I am Zeynep Cam and will be a first-year CS student this year. First of all, I want to thank Matt Delac and tutors on Slack as well as students who actively use Slack to help or ask questions. When I first came across SheCodes, I didn't know I was gonna have a lot of fun. Before SheCodes, I was trying to learn coding by watching 4 hours, 10 hours Youtube videos. It was a terrible experience for me and I thought that I will never be able to enjoy coding and even learn it properly. I thought that my decision to go CS program was totally wrong and I was already thinking to change my program as soon as the universities begin this fall. Then I joined a Free Coding Class and eventually joined the beginner workshop. Now, I am willing to study my CS program. It is gonna take pages if I mention how much I loved SheCodes. SheCodes is the best! And, Matt Delac is an awesome teacher! Thanks again for everything <3

For me, SheCodes was the beginning of something wonderful. I’ve never learned so much new stuff in such a short time, and I also never had so much fun learning how to create, break and fix things. I’m a huge fan of Matt’s casual, creative and cool teaching style. I love that he’s able to break down even the most complex topics. His passion and excitement for coding is highly contagious. In this course, Matt provides the most important knowledge and tricks for getting a website to do what you want it to. Don’t get me wrong: The course was no piece of cake. On the contrary, it was a big challenge, but it also gave me a great feeling of achievement, and I really loved the final project. Now I feel inspired; almost unstoppable. Coding opened up a new hobby, maybe even a new future for me – and I will never forget where it all started. I started this course having tried to complete coding classes and online workshops before but never really having the information stick or feel like I learned a lot. This course is very well set out and you can take it at your own pace. I loved the small challenges leading to the weekly homework. It allowed you to really get to grips with coding in small manageable chunks.

Very easy to understand, and in the correct bite sized amounts. I loved how there were quick checks to make sure I understood the lesson material, and the final project was fun!

Really easy to follow and I stayed motivated to finish the course. My final project is a website created for my own side hustle which was quite fun! I love how the course allowed me to bring in my own personal projects.

I loved the SheCodes experience a lot! I can't tell I finished a front end development course because it does not give you deep knowledge and understanding of coding. However, it gives you an idea how it would look like to be a programmer and inspires you to develop your skills further. The project was very interesting and it motivates me to continue studying.

I really loved the workshop!😊 I never thought I would be able to understand coding but Matt explains things in a super easy way 😎 The lessons are short and easy and you can do them whenever you have the time. Since Covid-19 hit, I was left unemployed, laid off and rethinking my career path. My best friend introduced me to SheCodes and I honestly fell in love with coding! It's very challenging, and a lot of fun. It allows me to be creative which is important to me and I'm looking forward for whats next 😊

I loved learning how to code. Seriously a fun and interesting language to learn. It was challenging and rewarding when I got a code the way I wanted it. I hope I am able to contribute to my field more profoundly with these learned skills. You need to put in the work to earn what you learn throughout the program.

I enjoyed Shecodes introduction so,i decided to continue to Shecodes Plus to learn more because it so much fun and i love challenges. Shecodes definitely changed my perspective on coding and i'll be doing Shecodes React as well. I'm happy that i came across Shecodes ad on my insta story.

SheCodes Plus is a great extension to the SheCodes Workshop. I have advanced my skills in HTML, CSS and Javascript. I loved how every week the lessons would build off each other. It is cool to see your homework from each week develop to your final project. This course has given me much more confidence. My coding skills have greatly increased and I am much more knowledgeable. I am looking forward to the next workshop and going out into the real world to put my new found skills to work.

Of course, there have been a couple of frustrating moments, such as being stuck on a function and not getting the result I need, but I loved those moments because I couldn't stop until I came up with a solution. I really loved learning and working with SheCodes from the first day! After completing the SheCodes Workshop I continued learning with SheCodes Plus and I have had sooo much fun! Before starting SheCodes I had never done anything related to coding and was afraid I wouldn't be able to keep up. SheCodes provides the perfect structure to learn coding and gives you the confidence to try out what you've learned. I really enjoyed working on the project and tapping my creativity. Seeing everything come together at the end is really gratifying! If you get stuck at any point you can always ask for help in the community and get support from your fellow coders and the lovely SheCodes Team. Definitely would recommend trying out SheCodes! It has even led to a change in career paths for me!

This course has been extremely eye-opening for me. I just got my bachelor's degree this past spring, and I still had no idea what I wanted to do. I love graphic design, but I still felt like it was not enough. SheCodes has opened my eyes and made me realize that there are many more opportunities out there in store for me. At uni I studied systems engineering but life took me to Quality Assurance and I continued that path, but throughout the years I kept wondering what if I had pursued a career as a developer. I'm currently a QA Tester and I love my job, but as time passes I realised this is something I don't want to leave aside. SheCodes has given me the confidence on doing so, given the big gender gap in the industry, one of the reasons why I left this aside for so long is because I felt intimidated, but not anymore, I'm looking forward to continue with the rest of the courses!!

SheCodes was a wonderful first step into the world of coding as a woman! I felt comfortable signing up knowing this course was designed for women and I wouldn't have to worry about gender stereotypes while learning. Coding/programming is a field dominated by men so I love that this course gets women interested and gives us the ability to learn in an empowered setting. I plan on signing up for the Plus React program to continue my learning with hopes of transitioning to the field for employment.

Took the course to learn about coding and potentially pursue a side hustle. Loved how it was at your own pace for the three week course. Matt is a great teacher!

Being unable to work due to COVID-19 I had little to do, SheCodes was a great way to spend my time. I always love learning new skills and the flexibility of course was ideal for me because you can do as much or as little you want on a given day as long as you keep up with the time schedule.

SheCodes Plus was an amazing opportunity to dive deeper into front end development. It was such a great learning experience, and I loved the end project that was created. Matt's videos and challenges are easy to follow and understand too. I had such a fun time during this workshop.

I spent way too much of my life believing I shouldn't/couldn't code because "I'm not like a coder." FALSE. I'm not like what I think a coder should be in my head, but this course proved to me that literally anyone, ANYONE can and should learn to code if they want to. I absolutely love the bite-sized lessons that build on each other like Lego. The concepts are easily digestible and I looked forward to being done work so I could code every single day. I don't think I've had so much fun learning a new skill in a long time. I love the Slack community and Matt's teaching style. I highly recommend at least giving the introductory 3-week module a try if you're even the least bit curious. I can't wait to continue on to the next two modules! I got my co-worker to do it with me and she loved it as well :)

Loved the workshop! Lessons were splitted into short videos, so it was easy to find any topic if you wanted to review concepts. Explanations were really good, and also exercises were easy to understand and do, after the proper explanation.

I have worked out of many different billing systems and my goal is to one day build a user friendly billing system that company's can use. I purchased some outdated books on HTML, CSS, and Javascript and almost lost my interest in learning to code. Then, I found SheCodes, and I am so glad I did! I love how supportive everyone is, and I really do believe anyone could learn to code using SheCodes.

I loved that the Plus course continued the format of the Introductory course where topics were broken up into their own separate videos. It made the topics easier to learn, practice, and digest; and has given me a basis for what to look for when problem-solving and researching in order to build on to the skills that I've learned from the course. I also enjoyed the level of difficulty and challenge of the project. I'm excited to learn more with the React course!

Loved this course! I'm a beginner in coding but have dabbled a little bit here and there because I've been interested for a while and this course absolutely nailed it! Matt is so clear and explains everything in such a simple way so it's easy for a beginner to understand and it actually makes sense. Definitely enjoyed this course and currently planning on doing one of the advanced workshop because this is definitely something I can see myself taking forward and what an amazing forum to do so! 100% recommend.
