SheCodes Coding Workshop Reviews

This last module of SheCodes was challenging, to say the least, but extremely rewarding. It taught me that consistency and perseverance are key to accomplishing anything we put our minds to, even if the process might take longer than expected. My only regret is that there are no more SheCodes courses after this one and I will truly miss the lessons and the lovely team at SheCodes! A big heartfelt thank you goes to Matt and to the entire team at Shecodes!

I love Shecodes! The videos are easy to follow and I had a lot of fun! I would definitely recommend this class to anyone wanting to learn coding!

I could not help myself but sign up for the SheCodes Plus course after having done and loved the Basics course. This was a really fun way of learning how to code, everyday it was something different and it was great to see the end result! I'm still curious to keep learning and progressing. Matt is such a great teacher, can't wait for the next courses!

I absolutely loved building on the learnings from the SheCodes Basic and to dive deeper into HTML5 , CSS and especially Javascript and API. Matt continues to impress me with his great teaching skills! 👨‍🏫 One thing I really like about all the SheCodes Workshops so far is that we get to design the projects all by ourselves. I don't have to build exactly the same as everyone else, in the end everyone has a completely unique project result. I believe this is very different to a lot of other courses and proves to me, that it was a great decision to choose SheCodes! I am excited to see what comes next and where this path will take me!

The SheCodes workshop was easy to understand and follow, I signed up right after taking the Free coding class. The fact that I could go at my own pace was very convenient. I love the mission behind SheCodes and I look forward to taking the remaining workshops! 😊

I love the way Matt strategically split the lessons into short sessions. It is very helpful when you have to refer back and it is pretty efficient this way. The tools provided by SheCodes were awesome also since I love designing! Keep up the great work SheCodes team! 🏅🤩

After two years of studying international relations, I understood that this is not the career I would like to pursue. I have always loved IT classes back in high school, so I feel like SheCodes is an excellent start on my way to the job of my dream.

The classes are easy to follow. I love the fact that each lesson are short and straight to the point. I really appreciate the way Matt explained some things in lay mans term. Using everyday life scenarios to better explain the logic of the lesson.

What to say ? Again awesome content, great explanations and exercises . This workshop was the most challenging one so far but I loved it. I must admit, at times it was frustrating because you have to learn some advanced concepts, but once you get it you realize it is definitely worth it because with this approach your code is much clearer and more manageable. And it's even more fun to code now. I recommend it to everyone that has passed frontend development course as the next step :)

I just completed the SheCodes basic course through their scholarship and I loved every minute of it, even the hard parts. The lessons are detailed and make it easy for anyone to follow, even a complete beginner. The SheCodes team is available on Slack and they have an impressive response time. They constantly check in to see how you're doing even if you don't message them. I look forward to the rest of the courses.

I loved learning from Matt! The short snippet videos were very helpful. The intro front developer course showed me the basics of page structure, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I highly recommend this course.

This has been an amazing course full of different challenges I loved to go through. The course is well explained, so you'll never feel like you're lost. It was so exciting to work on my own project and I am so happy and satisfied with what I've created. SheCodes gave me confidence and inspired me to start my carrier in tech. It was a very nice course 🎉! I actually wanted to learn how to code since a very long time ago but I didn't know how to start because of lack of knowledge in the subject and the courses are very expensive. I actually loved this course because it allowed me to learn and mix both of my passions engineering and how to make everything more accessible for users❤! This is a great workshop to combine all of your previous knowledge and to actually use it. And of course to learn about SEO and Responsive. Loved to make the final project for this workshop and I'm going to definetely improve it with time.

This course pushed me in a way that was super satisfying. I've learned a lot!! I enjoyed it so much that I finished ahead of schedule and I love that I was able to do it at my own pace. I found it really interesting watching Matt code and I think it's great that he didn't edit out his little errors so we can see him correct them. I feel proud of my little weather site and am super excited to jump in to the next certificate!

Loved to be introduced to the world of coding by SheCodes. The learning format enabled me to work whenever I wanted/could, but still got me going by having deadlines on a weekly basis.

I absolutely LOVED this experience! It was challenging but the needed support was provided through slack and cheat sheets. I loved the self-paced aspect of it. I love the challenges and appreciated the hands-on practice.

I am really enjoying She Codes. It’s very interesting and exciting. Love the content, the way the curriculum is planned explained very well and the way the lessons are delivered. Homework is a big part of SheCodes workshops, some piece of homework can be very challenging but enjoyable at the same time.

I really enjoyed this workshop. Even though it was only 3 weeks, I gained so much knowledge. When I began the workshop I knew a little bit about VS Code, HTML, and CSS. Now that I've finished I've learned even more and I was introduced to JavaScript. I was honestly very nervous about JavaScript but it was taught in a way that made it seem less intimidating and easy to understand. I loved the short lessons and the challenges that followed. It allowed me to test my skills and make sure I was truly understanding the information. The solutions were insightful and I feel like I learned a lot of tips from those as well. I highly recommend this workshop to everyone. Beginners will find it easy to follow and those that already know how to code can refresh their skills.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking the self-paced Basics class at SheCodes. Matt is an awesome instructor and while classes are pre-recorded, I felt as if they were live because Matt was engaging, entertaining, and really broke down concepts to make them understandable. I loved having the lessons and homework as a I learn by doing. I also had a ton of support with the SheCodes Slack community and was able to ask for help when needed or check the threads for tips and guidance on assignments.

I absolutely loved this course, and would highly recommend it to anyone who is an absolute beginner. Matt is extremely good at teaching you exactly what you need! Slack is also extremely fun to be apart of, and everyone there is lovely including the SheCodes team.

I enjoyed this She Codes Basic Workshop. I really liked Matt's teaching style and well-structured videos. I love the challenge after each lesson. I worked as a backend developer and wanted to learn new skills in Frontend. Because of this workshop, I was able to update my existing knowledge. I am excited to continue with the rest of the Codes workshops. I highly recommend this course!

LOVED IT. The videos are well done and easy to follow. Learned a lot. Recommended it to two friends and they have been enjoying it a lot as well. I'm currently a teacher that hopes to get a better-paying job as a coder and I believe this workshop is a great step in that direction.

Another project finished and a new skill getting to a new level. I loved building the Weather application. It was very challenging and fun project that allowed me to learn more about JavaScript, HTML, CSS, GitHub, Bootstrap and APIs. I've always been interested in learning Coding in my country but there isn't any classes or lessons available to learn from. There are a lot of websites to learn from but none of them seemed to be able to give me the learning experiences that I'm looking for until I discovered SheCodes through a friend. So I decided to give myself a challenge and go for it! As I slowly learn more, I find myself enjoying Coding. I love how every lessons are neatly organized, the format of the course, assistance available through slack and assignments are not peer-graded too. Not only that, due to personal issues, I wasn't able to complete the course on time but I'm glad that the SheCodes team were generous about the extensions they gave me. So to those who are unsure of learning coding or where to learn from, I hope that you'll give SheCodes a try! Definitely worth the money and time learning from!

I was worried that it would be difficult for a beginner, but the coach clearly tell the material. I love that there are both theory and practice. Sometimes it was difficult, and sometimes it was very easy. The first lessons show almost all the solution of tasks, but then with each new lesson the student needs to solve the problem, or look for the right code on the Internet. I like it when the algorithm works. Especially when I was able to find another solution that is different from the one proposed. Anyway, you, guys, got me interested. I’ll keep going! 😎

I cannot recommend SheCodes workshops enough. This is my second one and I'm already deciding which one I'll complete next. I love the challenge and sense of community with the slack channels available.

I knew absolutely nothing about coding before, but after the SheCodes basics course I feel like I understand the fundamentals. Lovely user-interface, good pace and well-explained and step-by-step instructions so that anyone can learn. Would recommend!

I always loved coding. I tried some online courses but they all had a big problem. They were not PRACTICAL! When I got the chance to be a part of shecodes trainers I told myself that I'm gonna use this opportunity as best as I can. And for that decision I am sooo grateful. SheCodes workshops are extremely practical and well thought-through. I can't thank matt enough. He is such an amazing teacher and teaches you everything from scratch. I recommend these sooooo much. Don't hesitate!

SheCodes Basic was such a fantastic course and a really affordable way to find out if coding is right for you. I never thought it would be right for me, but after taking the free 1 hour workshop Matt offers, I understood the basics of coding, for the first time ever! He is such a great teacher and really makes difficult concepts seem so easy and he gives lots of amazing tips. I also love the mix of bite-size lessons and hands-on activities which really helped consolidate my understanding. Would 100% recommend it!!

It is easy to love SheCodes. You get to submerse yourself into the world of coding at your own pace, yet the deadlines help you stay on track. I got very sick during my Basics course (many hospital visits), but yet I persevered and met my goal to finish the course!

I am currently a college student who is a Marketing major. I am someone who loves tech and fashion and want to find a way to combine the two. I have always been someone who liked the creative fields and also am someone who loves a challenge and I feel coding provides that. I am excited to pursue this.

Just completed my SheCodes Responsive. It was indeed very challenging and I love how it made me to find the solutions and get the codes work. With the daily challenges, weekly homework, and projects I practiced more on what I have learned and strive myself to provide a creative and responsive project. Thank you to Prof Matt and the SheCodes team for wonderful learning journey and support.

Loves the content and pacing of the classes! Matt did a great job on explaining how things work and provided a bunch of tips and tricks that helps me out a lot while working on the project. I enjoy the journey and find coding to be much more fun now, looking forward to the next few workshops to come.

I knew about SheCodes for years, for some unknown reason i thought it was only for a certain age. When i looked a lot more into it after wanting to do this for a long time, i learned that it was for every age range. I immediately took the introduction course, immediately signed up for the course. I'm so glad i did! Very easy to follow and i love how i can always go back and review a video if i got confused at any point. I can't wait to continue to learn and code!

I loved my learning experience with SheCodes! Matt is a great instructor, you can tell he has led the course already by the way he explains areas where students typically have questions or get hung up, which I really appreciated. He was able to anticipate confusion which shows that Matt and the team are in touch with students and where common struggles are happening. The Slack channel came in handy when I needed to see other people's work to compare to my own when I was getting stuck. I love how organized the content was and how thorough each lesson was given. I hope SheCodes continues to create new courses and offer additional learning opportunities as the industry evolves!

After completing the 3 week workshop, I realized that I wanted to continue. I love how SheCodes breaks it down in small steps and allows you to actually create your own projects.

I had no coding experience before taking shecodes basics and I love it. The instructor, Matt was clear in explaining the lessons. There is a supportive community that answers every question you have. Totally recommend it.

This is the second time I've tried coding! This time round it's all made much more sense and I've had much more success as a result. I've really enjoyed learning and expanding my knowledge and found the tutorials really clear and easy to understand! Loved having weekly homework to keep me motivated throughout the whole course.

I loved everything about SheCodes! From the format of the courses to the fun projects and challenges. I would highly recommend this to coding beginners and anyone who would like to understand what websites and apps are made of and brush up or advance basic coding skills.
