SheCodes Coding Workshop Reviews

I am a Full Time Registered Nurse at the bedside that has been looking for an alternate career path. I decided to dip my toes into the tech world with SheCodes because it let me do just that without committing to an entire 8-24 month long commitment at a formal university; and I am so glad I did it because I'm learning how much projects matter more than an institution name and 4 year programs! I also love that they offer shorter workshops to try out coding before committing to a larger investment, which many alternatives require of prospective students without them even having tried coding. The learning segments are easy to digest, homework and challenges are very straight forward and they teach you real life ways to find help before reaching out to their technical support. It is very organized and easy to follow. All in all, I have to say I'm impressed. I've only done the 3 week workshop and already have a project that I can put on my portfolio and that has given me the confidence to proceed with the SheCodes Max. Thank you for being so generous with your craft Matt!

Love that Matt regularly reminds the learner to ‘just have fun and enjoy’. Because even if programming is a bit challenging at times - at least for a complete beginner like me - it really is a lot of fun to gain access to a whole new world, and several new languages at that!

Very clear and easy instructions and was great knowing that support was always there if I needed it. I've loved every moment of learning.

My coding journey with SheCodes continues to be a positive experience. Matt Delac's instructional videos are direct and concise showing each step with clear directions and explanations. The organization of the course, all the supportive materials and access to SheCodes Athena-AI coding assistant are the tools I use to learn and write my code. I know I can return to the lessons for clarification when needed. I appreciate Matt's acknowledgement that the material can be challenging to understand. He demonstrates that if the code doesn't work the first time, don't panic, just try to use the clues and find where it breaks and try again. He always offers encouragement and injects a positive spirit into the process by telling us to have fun with what we are learning. I know that may seem like a minor detail but it creates a positive mindset. I want to take what I've learned and try out some other APIs. I found one about coffee drinks and now I want to play with the API to create an app for those who love coffee. Now I'm looking forward to my next workshop. Thank you to everyone at SheCodes.

I loved this add on. I learnt so much so quickly and it wasn't overwhelming. I keep thinking I am never going to understand these new "languages" but then I do things automatically now so I know by the end of the course I will understand so much more.

I absolutely loved my experience with SheCodes! The course was incredibly well-structured and easy to follow, even for someone like me who had no prior coding experience. It was an exciting experience that helped me with focus and determination. Tho i struggled at some point but i have pulled through. The instructor explained really well, classes were not stressful because the lectures were well taught. The projects and challenges were engaging and gave me a real sense of accomplishment as I progressed through the course. The highlights for me was the final project, where I had the chance to build a website from scratch. It was challenging, but incredibly fulfilling to see my ideas come to life through code and gave me opportunity to learn better ways to codes. One of the amazing things about SheCodes is the community and being able to reach out to others when you need help and they are ready to help. It has given me a push for a great career ahead. Another amazing add-on, that built on the main react workshop and allowed to polish my skills. Absolutely worth the time of the extra two weeks. The more I work with React, the more fun I have. And bulding my own dictionary was especially awesome experience, and I am deeply in love in languages. Keep it up SheCodes Team!

I've recently completed the react development course from SheCodes.io, and I'm so glad I did! The course was challenging but also engaging and enjoyable. I especially loved the hands-on exercises and the real-world projects that allowed me to apply what I was learning. The instructor was knowledgeable and supportive, and the community of fellow students was very helpful.

SheCodes has been the perfect program for me! I love the ability to move at my own accelerated pace to achieve personal goals. In about 50 days I have worked hard to learn, practice, and level up from the Basics through Responsive workshops. Matt has structured the lessons to ensure student success. I am excited to continue with the Responsive Add-on and React workshops!

SheCodes has been a wild jorney! I sure didn't expect to be as cool and as challeging as it was, and the best part of it it's to look at what you did during the program: the pages and pieces of code you just never expected that you'd be able to do. Matt is very didatic, the classes are short and the homeworks are fun. Besides, the Final Project (bit harder than you may think it) is challeging enough to test your abilities while letting you feel free to be all creative and just have fun while seeing your abstract ideas becoming something solid. I loved it every single minute of the program, and all the work done was very fun (and difficult). I am excited to keep on learning!

I really loved learning more about React whilst creating the dictionary app. Matt made everything simple and clearly explained all concepts.

This SheCodes Responsive Portfolio project was so much fun to build. I love that I can go back and add more as I continue to code and make more projects. Being able to design web pages that are friendly not just to the desktop but also to the mobile device is essential in today's web development field. This is one I enjoyed building and I can't wait to learn even more.

This is by far the easiest way to learn how to code. I have been trying to learn for months but it only took me a couple of weeks with SheCodes. It's also fun and very interesting because of the challenges. Loved it and would highly recommend!

Love learning and practicing with React

The SheCodes Basics Add-On was a lovely course. It built onto the foundation we learnt in the first course in a valuable way, and gave us a chance to be creative and apply what we learned on a project for practice. The project was a lot of fun to complete, and we learned a lot of important techniques.

I love how quick this course get me set up a real webpage that I can readily showcase to others.

This exceeded my expectations! I did not think I would love coding as much as I do now. Even though I am just getting the hang of it, I know that I can improve my newly acquired skills by practicing as often as I can.

When I enrolled in this course I was on holiday from Med school and wanted to learn a little something on the side that wouldn't be too tasking and also allowed me to have fun while learning. That's when my friend send me a link to SheCodes. The tech community is so overrun with men that i never wanted to get into the community as women are usually shadows in the art. I loved how the platform was made just for women and it provided a safe space while learning, It helped you take your time and also was very flexible in terms of how fast you work. This is a course you can do over your own time and also you can spend even 30 minutes of your day to attend a few lessons. Everything was made easy and when things got hard you could ask your friends on the slack platform or the Athena AI which made learning so much easier. I'm glad I took the time to enroll into this short course and I'll definitely be back for more.

As usual, this course was a great learning tool on how to incorporate AI into your websites. I love how much I have learned as I continue to impress myself with the skills I have gained.

I loved this workshop!! SheCodes Plus was challenging yet so fun. I loved building a fully functional application and seeing how everything came together. I cannot wait to learn more in the next workshop.

This course was a great addition to go deeper into creating Responsive webpages. I love working with the pages to make them work with all the different types of devices is such a fun challenge.

Loved working on this workshop project. I feel more and more confident about my coding skills, it's all about repitition and taking the time to explore new coding techniques. I was able to complete this add-on in only 1 week (instead of 2). I'm very glad to have embarked on this journey as I feel like this is something that I could do for living. Perfect introduction to coding! Love that it was self-paced so I could adapt my learning to my schedule, and every part was well explained. It was also great to have an opportunity to practise each new element before moving onto the next lesson.

I loved completing this program. There is still more to learn as this is just basics but I feel as though concepts were simplified, executed repeatedly and explained well which allowed me to understand what was being taught. I would recommend this to any women who's looking to start coding. I would also like to point out that three weeks is the right amount of time and you can complete tasks/ challenges in adequate timing without burning yourself out. There is also an abundance of resources that are also a great help.

I've LOVED learning with SheCodes, I've tried other platforms but this made it so fun, easy to understand and I felt I actually applied what I learnt to a project.

I have been wanting to learn how to code for a while, but I never knew how/where to start. I bought the basics workshop on Black Friday to give it a go and see if I liked it... I LOVED IT! Matt explains everything excellently and simply, making the learning process even easier than expected. I can't waitstart learning and expanding my knowledge.

I loved the well explained videos, made everything easy to grasp. and the pace was also perfect i got to learn 1 style at a time. i loved everything, i had a wonderful experience. also the fact that i could push the deadline further if i was starting to struggle with catching up, it was awesome.

This was a nice little add-on. I always like building something on a topic I love, and some really great techniques learned with embedding videos and media etc.

I loved this add-on course! I enjoyed learning advanced skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and how to implement time zones into our code without using an API. This course made me feel confident in my coding skills and I cannot wait to start SheCodes AI.

SheCodes is the best platform to learn how to code. I have tried learning via different platforms but the instructor and challenges given after every section make it super easy to understand what's being taught. I also love how we are given assignment deadlines for each workshop as it keeps me active.

What a ride! The responsive workshop was definitely my favorite 'til now. I had the opportunity to put all my coding knowledge together with my love for design and make a project that is unique to me. The journey with SheCodes has been wonderful, I have learned a lot of new things but mostly l love coding because of the support of the SheCodes team and how the lessons are taught. It's amazing how much l have learned in a short period. I am grateful.

Another great workshop, more focused on HTML, CSS and pages/apps responsiveness. In this workshop I've learnt how to make my pages responsive. Which means that th pages/apps look good on every screen (from smaller to bigger screens and vice-versa). Loved taking the time to make my on Portfolio with all my previous projects. This final project really pushed me to be more creative and code on my own.

I loved learning about AI and I look forward to using it in future projects!

This is my second course with SheCodes, following on from Basics, and I loved it just as much. I'm about to start the SheCodes Plus workshop, and as someone who had absolutely no background in coding or anything like that before starting SheCodes, I can definitely say that it's a brilliant service. SheCodes is an amazing place and atmosphere to take on the challenge of coding! I love that it is structured to keep you motivated and moving forward! I’m so excited to be coding again after attempting a year of IT in varsity and not having the means to continue. SheCodes really opens doors and makes it possible for many Women out there. I hope I can integrate what I learn with my love and passion for healthcare and healthcare education.

I loved the simplicity of the course and the clear explanations and instructions.

After completing the basics course with zero coding experience and unsure how I would do, I found the course to be well explained and fun. I decided to do the 'Plus' course to keep up momentum and carry on my learning experience. I enjoyed this course even more and liked the speed at which the classes are delivered and the explanation as to why things are being done. (Also, Matt's occassional chuckles and reassurances make the classes relatable and easy-going!) I love working things out and am really enjoying learning something that requires problem solving.. Now onto the next course..!

I did no´t know anything about coding. I thought as Matt said in the videos, It was rocket science.. I´m from a different field, I´m from Health science I studied Biomedical Science, and Clinical Microbiology with a master degree in sales and Marketing so I Work in Sales but I wanted to experience a different field to learn something totally new for me. I work a lot of hours during the day and travel a lot (but not for fun hahaha), Despite my busy busy life I could finish the three weeks workshop (In more time of course, because my agenda it´s pretty tight), but The way Matt teaches does everything easier to learn; I love the shorts and practical videos to understand everything. Right now I´m thinking in take a big step to try to learn more about this world, probably soon I will take the maximum level of these workshops. Thank you very much, to create such a magical way to learn a field that looks super difficult and "just for men"...
