I went from knowing nothing about coding to basic knowledge in a few weeks. This program is easy to follow because the lessons are short and concise and you immediately have to put the concepts to use in a lesson challenge. Help and support from other students and instructors is easily available when needed which is comforting because I could see when I wasn't the only one struggling with a concept. I also like how the creator of SheCodes, Matt, teaches the lessons because you can feel his passion for coding. Honestly, I find coding to be challenging but I love it because of euphoria felt when your code works! I am excited to continue learning and cannot wait to see where this new skill will take me!
I loved the Learn to Code Basics course! The pace was perfect for meβI could watch the videos and practice on my own without feeling stressed about timelines. Over the 3 weeks, my knowledge built up gradually, and I felt more confident with each lesson. They have so many great resources available, and it was fun! So much so that I've signed up for She Codes Plus! I'm a Product Manager and was taking this course to increase my technical knowledge but I'm hooked now and want to learn more!

I absolutely loved this course. It was very challenging but I learned so much. The effort and pay off was incredibly satisfying and finishing the course with a working weather app was such a huge accomplishment. Matt was a great teacher and I felt like everything was explained very clearly. Even if I did struggle, the Slack was always very helpful and quick with responses.

Loved being able to challenge myself and delve deeper into Javascript during this course. As a UX Designer, this knowledge is so valuable to be able to better communicate with my developers. I enjoyed this course and cannot wait to continue learning!
I love the way the material builds on itself. I usually pause or replay the lectures so I can try out Matthieu's examples, and the challenges and assignments for each unit really help me digest each unit without being an excessive burden. If you're learning any new language, it's not very effective to try to memorize thousands of words without context. You have to learn just a few and then use them to grasp the syntax and grammar. Once you have some practice assembling sentences, acquiring new words becomes much more easy and natural. Similarly, SheCodes lectures are short and action-packed, focusing on structure and syntax while we master just a few powerful tools at a time. Essentially, Matthieu teaches core skills so I can find and learn more tools on my own. I've learned so much in such a short period of time and really enjoyed it. I can't wait to see what the next few weeks hold!

My name is Whitney Reed. I'm from Mississippi, but now living in New Orleans, Louisiana. Back, in 2019 and in 2021, I had got in trouble. I lost custody of my daughter to my aunt and uncle in Mississippi. In 2022, I was into a relationship not too long after that and I wasn't happy with my life and the choices i made in it. in 2023, I, then, decided to moved to New Orleans. My goal was to do DoorDash with my car and saving up money, but i ran my car down and sold it. After using up my money and resources, I called a friend up for advice on the next move. She suggests a shelter, so I look one up. The second listing on Google was the New Orleans Mission. It's a faith-based homeless shelter that has an amazing 1 year discipleship that gets people learned about God and help you get back to him. After that, they help people get back in society, and help people get back with their families. I'm a graduate of the program and now into the transition stage, where I'm working full-time and working on a car and housing and hopefully, reuniting with my daughter. It's wonderful. While I was there, I was thinking about get back to school, especially in computer and technology. I already went to four colleges, but i dropped out of all four (mainly because of the discussions). One day, when I finally did my research, I came into SheCodes and signed up in November 2023 on the Black Friday sale. So far, I love the setup. I like how Matt explains each lesson so well. I definitely like Athena AI in answering my questions so well and also the people over at Slack as well. I wanna thank the people responsible at SheCodes for giving women the chance to learn how to code. I appreciate it!
I absolutely loved this Basics course, it gave me insight on what coding is about. I was intimidated greatly when i first started coding. Thoughts of whether i really am capable and if i m not reaching far beyond what i can handle crept in too, but Matt really made it seem way too easy that I've developed a real love for creating and excitement.

The challenges were actually challenging which isn't always the case with these courses and I loved it. You're not simply repeating, you have to think about what you want to achieve and how to get there so the knowledge will stick much better. The videos were easy to follow and I felt supported the entire time. Would definitely recommend.

Iβve fallen so deeply in love with coding, and I owe it all to Matt for being such a great instructor. When I started, I had zero experience with web development. But after Basics Week 1, I felt confident in my understanding. I even began inspecting other webpages in my spare time and could easily read and interpret the Elements tab. Creating my own landing page was a fun and rewarding experience!

I really enjoyed this course, first I'm struggled with the javascript but after a couple of practise i understand how need to be working and now when I finished my project I really loved to working with API and the Artifical Inteligen just awesome.π My final project is a recipe generator I hope everybody love it like I do .Enjoy to use it and happy cooking time .π©πΌβπ³π³
As we get deeper into coding, I get more and more excited about things that I am capable of doing. Matt is a natural teacher and I would not achieve the same results with anyone else. At a glance, Python can seem intimidating, but once you learn to read and code Python, it's really beautiful and fun.
