I learned about the opportunity to study web development through a special aid program offered by the Delac Foundation via the KuñaTech Instagram account, a Paraguayan organization where my compatriots aim to provide development opportunities for women in the tech field. I eagerly shared this great opportunity with other women, friends, and university classmates whom I deeply care for. Through scholarships, I am fortunate enough to have knowledge of English, which encouraged me to apply. Despite the demanding nature of my university studies, I managed to complete this first course with valuable knowledge in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, which also helped me in a university subject, Software Engineering II. SheCodes classes are excellent; the videos are not too long, and the instructor explains very well. He explains concepts that can be complex in a very simple way, making them easier to understand. Additionally, his English is very clear, making it easy to follow his explanations. The deadline extensions were also a big help, as some weeks are busier than others, which sometimes made it difficult for me to focus on the course. On the other hand, I absolutely loved how everything is personalized for women, and the gender focus provided for the course has been a great source of motivation for me. Everything looks pretty and aesthetically pleasing. Another aspect I really enjoyed was learning by creating parts of a project and finishing the course by building my own project. The community is wonderful, and the tools SheCodes provides to its students are incredibly useful. I am very, very, very grateful for this amazing opportunity, and I am excited for the upcoming workshops ❤️😊

I’m thrilled with how my weather application has turned out! After diving into web development, I managed to successfully integrate all the critical features: a responsive search engine, real-time API integration, accurate temperature, wind speed, weather description, humidity, and dynamic weather icons that update based on the current conditions. I learned a lot through the process, especially in working with APIs and managing error handling, which ensured a seamless user experience. I’m proud that the application is not only functional but also polished with a clean interface, responsive design, and great usability across devices. This project has shown me the value of consistent effort and creative problem-solving in building real-world applications. Weeks 1 to 3 of this workshop were great - we learnt a lot and there were many useful hints and techniques to save us time and make our projects look more attractive. However, weeks 4 and 5 were disappointing - none of the information was new, and the hours of videos were basically just watching Matt code an example project using techniques we had already been taught. I feel like this workshop could be cut to three or four weeks; by that point students should be well prepared to work autonomously (referring back to past videos if needed). I didn't want to skip any of the videos in the later weeks in case there was important new information, but it was just consolidation and repetition. Building a portfolio for our project was really useful, and it's great how things are broken down step by step, but each video could have just been way shorter. I'm still really looking forward to moving onto other SheCodes workshops, and I'm sure the content is going to get more challenging again.

Delac Foundation's web development course was so insightful. As someone who had zero background on anything in the tech industry, I gained hands-on experience, a stunning portfolio, and the confidence to pursue a tech career ! I learnt and practiced HTML, CSS and Javascript.
SheCodes Plus was more challenging than Basics, but I learned a lot! I fell behind a lot because of personal reasons, and I like that I could access the learning material at any stage and was not even removed from the program. Can't wait for the next one :)

My journey with SheCodes has been amazing! The pace at which the material is presented is beginner-friendly and thorough. There was technical support throughout the workshop and I love that students are encouraged to seek more information on their own. I learnt HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I'm still amazed that I've come so far in coding. It might not be much to some people but to me it's a big deal. I can say "I'm a Coder" now 😊. I kept going back to certain lessons/videos to understand better, it was worth it in the end.
