SheCodes Coding Workshop Reviews

I really loved this workshop and the way Matt teaches. I started learning code earlier, but I never understood why I have to do things the way I have to do them. Matt explains everything very clearly so you understand the background of why things work the way they do. I love the fact that the videos are really short and you always get an exercise to submit. Trying things out for yourself definitely helps to remember things better. I was so motivated that I finished all the videos and assignments in less than a week. After that I had enough time for my final project and to try out new things.

I enrolled in SheCodes workshop because I wanted to learn the basics of coding. I enjoyed the workshop very much as it provided hands on beginner level learning for front end development languages like HTML, CSS and Javascript. It was a fun and engaging 3 weeks! Thank you SheCodes!

I am an accountant and graduate student by day and a newbie coder by night. My journey started a few weeks ago when a colleague challenged me to learn how to code. Up until that day I had always perceived the goal as too difficult and unobtainable for me, but that all changed when I stumbled upon a SheCodes advertisement on Instagram. Thank goodness I did because before that I had researched online and felt overwhelmed by the thousands of programs that can range anywhere from $99 to over $15,000. I took the free 60-minute webinar first and immediately was pulled in by Matt Delac's teaching style, the format of the course and how easy it was to follow along. The first week I felt just a tad bit intimidated, but each lesson really takes you step by step and I can tell that I have begun to absorb the information. It's exciting to wake up in the morning and feel eager to learn something new. This class is perfect for anyone with little to no background of coding like myself and also provides an amazing opportunity to network with like-minded women who are also looking for a challenge. I give SheCodes, 10 out of 10 and I cannot wait to start the next workshop, SheCodes Plus React. I went as far as starting a GoFundMe to get the cash to be able to take the next course. I've never felt more motivated!

I didn't think I could ever learn to code, but this workshop taught me in a very pleasant way! Lessons are packed with information, but still super clear, brief, and easy to follow, everything flows so smoothly. Even if you get lost, you receive help and support immediately. I believe that if schools educated us the way Matt does, many students would be much happier with the system.

SheCodes has given me the experience I had hoped for to continue learning and I can't wait to continue further with SheCodes this was a great workshop! Thank you!

I am a dentist by profession,and had been sitting at home during the lockdown of 2020. My mind was figeting with the idea of learning something new. Coding always fascinated me,but intricacies were also very intimidating. I joined SheCodes workshop to get an idea if I would like to learn this further, and at the end of 3 weeks I can say that this is the most simplified and in-depth course for a even a bigenner like me. I would highly recommend the SheCodes workshop to anyone who wants to learn coding and has zero knowledge of it(like me). The fact that after each lesson we have to complete projects helps tremendously. I am looking forward to joining the SheCodes Plus workshop soon.

After 3 weeks I proudly finished my SheCodes Workshop where I learned about HTML, CSS and Javascript. I really liked the video lessons and the structure given. This made it easy to make progress step by step in your own time. I would recommend this course for anyone, even total beginners, to get an understandig of how coding works which is also important for me as a designer. I am even thinking about doing another workshop!

I really loved learning the basics to coding through SheCodes. The exercises were motivating and the support on Slack is great. I loved being part of the community. I learned a lot in just two weeks, and during the final project I even had the urge to do more research about the possibilities of coding. When you're not sure if coding is something for you, SheCodes is a great place to find out!

I was looking for a new project to start during the pandemic lockdown period and I'm so glad I started SheCodes! The tutorials were simple to follow and the challenges at each step make this course perfect for practical learners.

Investing in myself by taking my first-ever coding class with the SheCodes Online Workshop is one of the best investments I have ever made this year during the COVID-19 pandemic. This course helped me to have a deeper understanding of coding and wanting to discover and learn more about it!

I particularly appreciated the hands-on of the course that allows you to learn by trying out and finding your own solutions while also providing support in case you’re stuck. I strongly recommend it to complete beginners interested in learning the basics of coding. I now look forward to continuing the more advanced course to finally turn my MA thesis into an interactive website that will make history more accessible and fun to the public.

If you are like me and thought coding was a language too difficult to learn, then I would highly recommend you start with this workshop.

SheCodes Plus is a very fun and easy way of learning. This course really helped me to understand JavaScript better. And when you need some help there is always someone who can help you on your way through Slack.

I came into the 3-week online workshop not knowing anything about code. However, the lessons were clear and not hard to follow. I love how I was able to work on each lesson at my own pace. SheCodes was an amazing 3 week course! I learned coding years ago when I was in school and this was the perfect refresher course to get me back familiar with the world of coding. I've taken a front end web development course several years ago and haven't had much time to practice after graduating. Coding is really like learning a new language: if you don't use it, you'll lose it. Shecodes offered me the perfect refresher on HTML, CSS and JS. I did feel the material was very high level and went a little too fast, but the videos were short and digestible to keep you focused and interested.

I really liked this workshop. It reinforced concepts I'd learned during my time as an undergraduate as a Computer Science major. I never gotten the chance to be formally taught JavaScript, so it was nice that this course introduced it. I want to become a front-end developer and I believe this online workshop will give me the knowledge I need to be able to get a job I plan on continuing on to SheCodes Plus React

I definitely recommend learning with SheCodes. After losing my job due to Covid19, I took the beginner course to initially decide if it was for me or not, as well as to enhance my IT skills. The lessons are very user-friendly and it's great that you can progress at your own pace, with sensible and achievable deadlines to work towards. I was wrong to assume that coding would be boring and impossible, I've found it really engaging and actually good fun. I plan to continue with SheCodes!

This workshop is a very good introduction to the basics of coding: Matt teaches not only syntax but also the logic behind it. I would definitely recommand it to all women who are too impressed by traditional coding bootcamps. It's also a good alternative to usual tutorials by combining theory and practical exercices: ideal to learn at your own rythm and follow your own coding pathway. Very smart concept! The course was beyond my expectations. Matt and the SheCodes team created a great learning experience. This course is super helpful to have a nice start in coding without getting too intimidated and providing a good amount of practice. Definitely looking forward to the next modules.

This course is really helpful for those who are new to coding and want an introduction into web development and programming. I have loved learning about CSS, HTML and Javascript and excited to learn more in SheCodes +.

I had always seen coding as something that was too late to start at this point in my life. With SheCodes, I now understand that is not true! SheCodes allows you to build on your dedication and hard work to achieve the basics and anything else you might want. SheCodes is the place to start for those who have been putting off learning to code. I feel confident that I know have the tools to better understand the resources available in the coding community.

Matt's style of teaching is so easy to follow, and the short videos combined with mini challenges made it super easy to learn how to code a basic landing page. I was unsure if coding was something I could understand or do, and after this course I know that I can do even more!

This was a great class for beginners like myself! The videos were easy to follow and the challenges, homeworks, and project really allowed me to be hands on and implement what I learned. It was great to have the ability to go back and reference the videos if I got stuck. I did find that the course took more than 15 hours as stated in the course description (at least for myself - a beginner who was taking lots of notes along the way, viewing videos more than once if I got stuck, etc.). This workshop taught me the very basic fundamentals of HTML, CSS and JavaScript and has set me off to further explore the world of coding and learn more skills! Also, I can't say enough good things about the SheCodes team and the Slack channel that comes along with this workshop - the team was always super quick to respond to any questions I had about the course and the Slack channel provided great support! 

I became aware of SheCodes through Instagram and was at first unsure whether it would work. Then I took part in the Free Coding Class and that convinced me. Now I really enjoy coding and I have already learned a lot. When I have more time I will also attend the SheCodes Plus course.🤗👩🏼‍💻

SheCodes Plus is a great way to learn more advanced HTML, CSS, and JavaScript after the first workshop. The weather app was a fun project to work on!

I didn't just learn more about coding, but also how to be patient, try harder and don't give up when somethings doesn't work as you have expected, which happens a lot in coding. Matt is a good teacher, he explained the lessons in a very clear way as usual.

SheCodes was just the challenge my brain needed! I've been interested in learning to code, and this workshop has proved to be invaluable for beginners. My confidence and skills grew with each easy-to-follow lesson, and I'm excited to see what I'll create next with code! Thank you SheCodes!

I took the 3 week course as a very easy introduction to coding. Matt explained things very well and the videos helped me understand things. I wish there were more videos so I can learn more things! The challenge at the end of the three week course was appropriate.

I was really happy with my final project and getting the chance to learn something new. The lessons really helped me to break down the process and understand how to build a functional app.

The tutorials are very clear and easy to follow- the addition of the challenges helps to make sure you understand the process and remember learning from previous weeks.

My SheCodes experiences was amazing! The workshop was super easy and user friendly. Coding can be intimidating, but Matt explains each lesson clearly and the challenges are easy to do. If you're stuck with a challenge, someone from the SheCodes team is always willing to help. Before SheCodes my experience with coding was only through Myspace and Tumblr. I've never learned how to code before. Doing the SheCodes workshop was a great decision that I made for the 1st step on my coding journey. There were times I was frustrated and a little frightened because of the unknown, but those are the moments when I believe I learned the most. I believe it is true that anyone can learn to code. You have to be patient and not give up. You have to keep at it, keep trying, ask for help when you need it. Coding teaches you how to be a problem solver and that can be the most rewarding part. When i started SheCodes i was not sure what to expect. However, I enjoyed learning html, CSS and JavaScript with sheCodes because of the super organized classes and the tremendous help that is available for the students. Thank you SheCodes 😊!

Being a hands on learner, it helped to go by step by step with Matt as he was explaining things. Repetition is key!! Definitely was challenging at times and frustration can be part of growing process but in a healthy way. Once you begin to get the hang of it, the learning process becomes easier. You'll feel accomplished! I was super pleased with the end result!

I loved it! The challenges were fun (and so frustrating sometimes) and I feel like I learned a lot. I'm a teenager and had final exams at school throughout most of the course so I maybe didn't get as much out of it as I could've, but it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it to basically anyone.

I must say that the last few weeks were very interesting and full of new discoveries. Who would have thought coding was so much fun and at the same time also frustrating. Especially when your own knowledge on the subject is lacking or you just need to find a solution to a problem that seams giant at first but then is just a typo (mostly). I am so happy I took the time this year to learn a new skill and try out coding back in April with SheCodes Workshop and continued with SheCodes Plus. I can not wait to see what coding future I can discover and learn some more about programming. Hi everyone from SheCodes workshop, I would like to thank you for challenging months. I realy liked to learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript and worked on challenges. Learning how to work with API, Github or hosting was very very useful. I highly recomended this course becouse coding is fun, you can improve your skills and find good job. :)

I have had so much fun learning to code. Although I have definitely found some of the modules hard, I have really enjoyed figuring out how to do it and solving problems. As someone with (what I thought was) good computer knowledge, SheCodes has opened my eyes to so much more. As a student ready to start University, I have experienced some of what my degree may offer me. It has also became a hobby I wish to partake in as much as possible and expand my computer science knowledge further. Even if you are still on the fence about learning coding or trying something new, I would simply say go for it!!! Thank you Matt nad to the SheCodes team 👩‍💻

I've always wanted to learn more about coding and in the past few weeks, I've been able to learn and practice a lot of information. The weekly workshops are informative and well-thought-out and the challenges make you exercise what you've learned. The weekly homework grew off of each other each week to make the final project more manageable. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone who's been curious about coding!

I subscribed to learn a new skill: coding. SheCodes had a way of doing this fast, easy and with a lot of help. The movies are short so you can start working from the beginning. I loved the pace, what we learned and my new hobby. Thank you!

I fully enjoyed SheCodes. Every lesson I felt challenged and eager to learn more. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get a good solid foundation into coding. Matt explains every perfectly and encourages you to try more. Before SheCodes, I had no idea how easy HTML, CSS and JavaScript could be to understand. I had this idea that only a genius could build websites, format pages or even just read the languages. I have high hopes for my coding future after SheCodes, I now have a new desire to keep going in my coding career! What's next? Maybe Python or Ruby.. who knows. All I know is that I owe my foundation to SheCodes!

Having neatly zero knowledge of programming language before march 2020, in a couple of weeks through SheCodes and SheCodes Plus courses I managed to start taking my baby steps on the programming world. SheCodes Plus is a huge step forward, compared to SheCodes introduction. I would highly recommend taking this next level to get more confident and comfortable with CSS and HTML, but mostly to develop your JavaScript Skills. On SheCodes plus, not only you learn the tolls, skills and resources to be more independent in coding. You also learn how to use GitHub, host your projects online and, more importantly understand how these tools can also help you boost your CV and showcase your projects to potential employers! I cannot describe how helpful and how much did I learned during these last 8 weeks. It was extraordinary and allowed me to feel so much more empowered. Now, I can't wait to proceed with React! Again, I find Matt a really good tutor and the supporting Slack Team extraordinary. They have been an undeniable asset on this journey.

Totally loved the SheCodes Introduction to Coding Workshop! I had so much fun working on all of the challenges and learning how to code, and now I have a very good understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript!

SheCodes Plus is a great way to make your introduction to Front-End Development. You'll learn a lot and challenge yourself while building a hands-on, fun and useful app as your final project. The lessons are clear and straight to the point. The Slack community is great to meet other coders and ask for help with your project.

I used to think that coding was impossible for me, but I was wrong! SheCodes Workshop has taught me that learning coding is possible for everyone and that it is also a lot of fun! I really enjoyed this course and I would highly recommend it!

The online classes were very informative coupled with help from Slack, I was able to learn a lot thru mistakes and advice. The SheCodes website works well and assistance is amazing (they go all out to help you even on weekends!!). I went on to create mini-apps just as a self-learning journey. The SheCodes Workshop was a fun and accessible introduction to coding. The staff was very helpful and welcoming, and Matt's tutorials explained everything in a very clear way! I loved how the final assignment allowed me to practice my new coding skills, while having lots of creative freedom! Now I definitely want to learn more!

Shecodes provides professional online learning videos of coding. In the beginning, I feel nervous and anxious about learning coding because I think it may be difficult for me. However, through learning videos, I figure out that it is interesting and easy to learn. It is a challenge to develop a gorgeous website. In the meantime, I can enjoy the beauty of coding I am capable to make.

I didn't realize as a content development professional and an OG MySpace enthusiasts, that I knew how to do a lot of these tasks, just without the correct terminology. 2020 has been hard. This Intro to Coding workshop was not. I had a blast and enjoyed learning how to build a cool website!

I absolutely loved the SheCodes training and would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in coding. It is user friendly, you have tech support whenever you need and also a Slack community where you can ask questions and interact with others. I discovered SheCodes by chance. A friend knew I was interested in learning how to code and she told me than she saw an advertisement for SheCodes. So I decided to give it a try and I must say that it was the best decision I could do. Great way to learn the basics of coding at your own pace. The lessons are clear and well-structured, the challenges are fun ... What's not to like about it ?

I was curious about coding for a while and decided to give it a try. Since I knew nothing about coding, it was a great learning experience to learn the basics. The course is very enjoyable, it's not really demanding (however you'll have to google some stuff but it's quite easy to do it). At the end you'll end up wanting to learn more 🤓 Highly recommend for someone who is curious about coding and has no previous knowledge about it.

After attending college for Graphic Design and Web Design and Development I continued my education with a few private colleges across Ontario. Unfortunately, I felt like I didn't retain some of the information I had learned in JavaScript it's a bit more complicated to learn than HTML and CSS. I came across SheCodes and thought it would be a great way to review my skill sets during the pandemic and continue to prepare me for a Jr. Front-End Web Developer position that much better and it has, I'm looking forward to continuing with SheCodes Plus and SheCodes React. SheCodes supplies you with videos to follow along to and it makes a huge difference for me in retaining information.
