I had so much fun doing the workshop. Even though coding was a new world for me, Matt made it so easy to understand. The lessons are well explained, and what I liked the most, was that after every lesson, we had the chance to practice what we learned. I was really amazed by the content and structure of the course. Combining short, precise "theory" parts with exercises and the possibility to regularly review the content in terms of homework is really great. It perfectly fits with a busy work schedule and I am really keen on keeping learning. But to be honest the greatest benefit is the community: Matt and the whole team are really helpful and it is great to connect with the other students.

SheCodes Workshops has been quite a ride... The react workshop is the final lap of a road and undoubtedly the most challenging and rewarding one. It is unbelievable how much can be learned during 5 months with the adequate direction, and guidance from tutors who absolutely love their work and share not only their knowledge but passion about it. I feel now passionate myself about the new brave coding world. Amazing.

I've learnt so much from SheCodes Plus; I was a complete beginner before I did the SheCodes Workshop and I'm very proud of what I can now do. The Plus course has been challenging and was more intensive than the Workshop but it is broken up into manageable sections and you can do the lessons whenever you want so you can fit it around your routine. I'm looking forward to learning more in the React course!
A great opportunity for self-starters to learn how to code and have a taste of what is required in Front End Dev career. Matt explains every step very thoroughly, additionally giving you a lot of time in between to practice on our own. With SheCodes coding is fun and exciting!

React is a huge challenge but once you get the results it's so worth it! This course allows you to discover a new whole world but I wouldn't consider it enough to work as a Front End Developer. SheCodes Plus workshops changed my approach to career - I know that hard work can take me very very far. Although I still have a long way to go, I already know that participation in the SheCodes workshop was the best decision in my life. At first, I didn't think I'd find a new passion, I bought the course out of curiosity. I wanted to learn something new, completely different from what I do on a daily basis. After a few weeks of learning, I created a working weather app - I am very proud of myself! You can learn a lot during the SheCodes workshops, but the most important thing is to have the curiosity to explore topics, because programming is a huge area. There is an infinite number of solutions to a given problem - often when you go through one door you see at least ten more :) And that's great about coding - the variety of interpretations, solutions and approaches.
I came across SheCodes on instagram and decided to give it a try since I am studying IT Management in college and wanting to upgrade my coding skills, Over the 3 weeks I have really enjoyed what I have learned and the workshops are really detailed and go through everything piece by piece. It was really challenging at times but definitely worth the time and I am glad I decided to do it! Definitely a good experience for beginner Coders!
I had a lot of fun during this 3 weeks course! I have learned a lot and will be still learning more! It was very challenging and I can recommend it to anyone who would like to learn how to code. Having had an interest in coding, I participated in SheCodes Express a few months ago and was inspired by Matt's way of breaking down previously foreign concepts into simple terms that I just had to try the Online workshop. With no previous knowledge of coding at all, the workshop was an intense and fulfilling learning curve for sure. I stumbled across SheCodes when I scrolled through Instagram - it straight away captured my attention and suddenly I was on Matt's intro class, registering for the real workshop and starting to code for the first time in my life. I have to say Matt's way of busting the myth of "nerdy, impossible-to-learn-at-this-age" coding is super effective. I am still a galaxy away from a professional programmer but learning how to code (and read them) made me understand workflows, app design / implementation process, its behaviour, and digital space in general. This helps me a lot in my career where I build use cases for people and their business when they evaluate a CRM (I work at Salesforce), as well as for my personal learning. Keep up the good work Matt, Daniela, and team! π―

I have to admit that React was pretty hard work to understand and get used to, nonetheless it was very interesting to learn about it. This course is a good foundation to understand how front-end with react works, it needs quite a bit of practice but just as everything, if you enjoy coding, practice makes perfect.
Your lesson structure was fantastic! I had such a great learning experience. I recommend everyone learn to code via SheCodes!!
Shecodes has really helped my skills in coding. Did not know how to code at all but now I know how to do it. I can now complete my computer science degree thanks to SheCodes. I highly recommend women to taking this course because the industry is male dominated. I learned so much in 3 weeks I feel like a pro coder. I took SheCodes Plus right after the first SheCodes workshop and really loved it. SheCodes was my first exposure to coding and it was fun to learn this new, challenging skill! As someone who was a complete beginner I couldn't recommend it more.

Thank you for this wonderful workshop on Front-End Development. It is very straight-forward and geared at teaching you how to build a functioning weather-app in no time. Additionally, every student learns how to create a project on GitHub and connect it to Netlify and use APIs for a web-app. I will admit that there will be tough learning curves. However, there is a wonderful Slack-Community where we help each other out. If you don't have too much coding knowledge, I would highly recommend this.
It has been a long and intense journey to the end of this Workshop. It is challenging and frustrating at times, but once you understand how things work, there's no stopping you! I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in learning React.
I really liked it, sometimes it was hard to understand what was going on, so i learned more in the solution videos than the learn video.
I started knowing nothing about coding, after a few week I have learn so much. The support is incredible and the classes are very easy to understand. Highly recommend the workshops!
I loved working on this project since it gave us the needed tools to integrate real-time information using an API. After creating this project, I have learned a lot in JavaScript. Before I looked through the Vanilla JS videos, I had googled how to increment days in JavaScript which gave me more information as to how JavaScript's internal dates work. This has been a great challenge to complete!
Very sad to leave but I guess I'm done with all 3 courses. I enjoyed coding very much and I learned soo much. Thank you very much Matt for teaching us and thank you Joao for your patience and for everything. Great team SheCodes and I wish everyone the best. Stay safe β€οΈ
Selling SaaS products for the past 3 years made me curious about knowing all about how are these products actually being developed. I have never had any experience in coding and neither am I the best with computers, but these courses have brought me so much confidence that this too I can learn! Matt has a great way of explaining everything very well and Joao has been a great help when I was stuck. Instead of using this only in my work as a Sales Manager, I am hooked and will keep on learning and developing and hopefully find a job as a React Developer in the future.

The class was well taught and well planned. I wish the refactoring lesson had an accompanying exercise, even though it is mentioned as more of a preview for future courses. Most HWs are a culmination of skills you have previously practiced in lessons and their accompanying challenge. Challenges, although not checked the way HW is checked, serve as wonderful stepping stones to the weekly HW and final project. Questions can be asked on Slack and answers are quickly received in less than a day. The class gives you tools for learning on your own in addition to using what you have been taught. This is an excellent course for those looking to dip their toes into the world of coding!
This workshop help me initiate in the programming world and I love it!! You can improve at your own pace but everything is well structured, it's a great opportunity to learn the basics of html, CSS and Java.

I had a great experience with SheCodes. Working in the IT industry for a little over two years, I grew interested in learning about the fundamentals of web development; plus, I wanted to expand my skillsets and knowledge outside of my profession. SheCodes gave me a foundational understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavasScript that I know will benefit my career development and growth. The tutorials were helpful, and the homework did a great job at encompassing what we learned for each week. All in all, it was a wonderful journey!
Shecodes Plus is a difficult workshop, since it is available for beginners, I think it should include more support to improve the learning experience. All in all, very good tools to learn, but difficult for students starting in the coding world.
SheCodes was a fantastic way of learning coding for anyone of any skill sets. I loved how collaborative and supportive the program was. The shift between watching videos and actively coding was so helpful and effective. I can't wait to take my next SheCodes workshop soon!

As someone who has learned basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in the past, this workshop was a great refresher for me and gave me the creative freedom to really put what I'd learned (and re-learned) into practice. The lessons were constructed in an organized, straight-forwarded manner, and summarized concepts clearly and simply. The assignments and projects were set up in a way that really had to make me think about what I'd learned and figure out where and how to implement it correctly. Throughout the course, I didn't feel like I was spoon-fed at all, and was able to gain a greater understanding of concepts despite having learned them before. Now, I'm feeling a lot more comfortable working with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and and ready to move on and learn even more!

Challenging but fun! Though it's online learning, I always managed to get the help I needed if I was stuck on something. I never thought I would be able to create my own weather app! As an art professional I've always been intrigued by beautiful and innovative webdesign. Never in a million years did I expect that I would be able to understand, let alone create code myself. This experience has been incredible! This was my first time ever learning to code and I loved it! It's so fun creating from nothing and trying to find mistakes and their solutions. The only thing I would change would be to make the workshop more demanding.

Learning how to code has been on my mind for a long time now. As an UX Expert I deal with web-based solutions every day and always wanted to be able to understand the developers better. It was really hard for me to find the right approach to the world of coding. Then I came across SheCodes and gave it a try. It was the best thing I could do, because it gave me the best opportunity to take my first steps and comprehend what coding really means. The course is so well structured and so focussed on practicing your newly achieved skills. Most importantly: it's so much fun! I can't wait to continue my journey.
I enjoyed the workshop (of the 3 weeks) very much overall, of course I had moments of frustration along the way because sometimes it was a lot of new things to learn and memorize and it does takes self discipline to make it to the end, but every learning process comes with frustrations and trial and error this is the nature of learning things. So I think once you understand and accept that it becomes less hard and challenging. Overall I am very glad I took this workshop because I find certain things about coding now pretty interesting and I realized how much it is being used in so many things most people use nowadays. I have learned new skill which is really nice and if at any point in the future I will consider anything to do with coding at least I will know that I have some knowledge about it.

SheCodes Plus was a real challenge for me after completing the SheCodes intro workshop (no surprise there, we did dive into Javascript functions! π€―). As someone who has never written a line of code before taking these SheCodes workshops, I am proud of myself for finishing this course with a functional project to show for it.β£ β£ What I liked most about SheCodes is that it allowed me to move at my own pace. I hit some road blocks, not fully understanding certain concepts as they got more advanced and wishing I had more time to process the information. The team at SheCodes was gracious about deadlines, giving me the time I needed to complete my work, and whenever I got stuck, I was able to post in the Slack channel for help. β£ The moment when things started to click for me while working on my project, I felt so empowered and capable. I'm inspired to continue learning and to see where this road may lead me!

SheCodes Plus is a great course to learn about Front End Web Development.
I first came across SheCodes on GGI, a facebook group for women living abroad. I had always had coding in the back of my mind, ever since we learned some basic HTML during my master's degree in English Language Teaching. I love materials design and as Computer Assisted Language Learning is becoming more and more common, I loved the idea of being able to create my own webpages. I am a SAHM at the moment, so I like the format of the SheCodes workshops, since I could access the content whenever I had some peace and quiet - super useful if you have a little toddler running around. I loved every minute of it and also enjoyed all the challenges and being able to choose something unique for our final project. I will continue learning and looking forward to diving deeper into the world of Java Script.
Learned a lot this course. It was frustrating sometimes, but in the end I am really happy with how my project turned out.
