I highly recommend this 3 weeks workshop for whomever is thinking about starting to learn code. I was one of those people thinking a lot about paying for an online workshop without really knowing it would be a good investment or not and I'm super happy I did it!
I've been trying to learn programming since I was 11, when I was copy pasting basic html to change my neopets shop background π I've never really been successful, until NOW. Every time I have tried to take a webdev course the instructions have always seemed abstract and disjointed. This course has by far had the simplest break down of how code actually works and how HTML and CSS work together. I've learned more HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in 2 weeks than I have in 18 years. Incredibly challenging and interesting learning experience to discover the fascinating (and frustrating) world of coding and front-end development. Prior to this workshop, I only had some very basic HTML knowledge from 15 years ago, but I can now work with HTML, CSS and JavaScript after just three weeks! It has been a steep, and very productive, learning curve. The structure of the workshop is good with categorised learning videos, a supportive online environment with moderators and other learners and you are held accountable with several assignments per week which is a great motivation!
Honestly, enrolling at SheCodes Plus was the best decision I made in 2020 in terms of learning. I wasn't expecting to fall in love with coding, but after following Matt's lessons closely, I started seeing it with a different perception. Front-end is awesome and so SheCodes! Thanks Matt and the team!

I like how Matt makes it a point to make the learning experience come alive and makes the learner feel at home (albeit digitally), which is evident from the little challenges that are given to us, to the little quirks like his love for using emojis. I also appreciate the fact that support is rendered to us by Slack as I found it useful to not only get help from the SheCodes Team when I'm stuck, but also learn from my other fellow SheCodes students. This intro level course was very approachable and straight-forward. I learned much more quickly than I expected, and am energized to do more! I appreciate the self-paced aspect, as I was able to zip through the course very quickly as my motivation allowed. Overall, I'd recommend this for anyone wanting to learn the very basics of coding.

This coding workshop is a perfect way, how to quickly and easily learn the basics of coding. Perfect is that after the workshop you can already start with coding on your own. The content of the workshop is explained very well - just to the point with a summary at the end of the workshop so that you do not get lost in all information. I enjoyed it and recommend it a lot.
I always thought that coding is something like mathematical equations all over the place, which is not my cup of tea. It turned out I was completely wrong, and although it isn't as easy as it sometimes seems, I quite enjoyed the lectures and challenges. I learned a lot, and this is a good beginners course, and I think I'll try to learn more.

Easy to follow workshop. A lot of programming courses made me feel overwhelmed and in the end it was very difficult for me to complete them. SheCodes is different. Short classes, clear explanations and homework for each week, so that you can practice what you have learnt.

This course has been a treat. Everything is broken down so that it doesnΒ΄t seem scary or intimidating. I loved learning about coding with Matt and although I have decided that I don't want to be a coder it has helped me significantly in my job where we run a CMS. βIt's embarrassing but I was Java developer 10 years ago...π , and now I am on business side for my professional career. However, the background of "Tech + Business" have become my advantage. The technology is always evolving, and it is hard to catch up all the time if there is less opportunities like me. The learning through SheCodes Plus & React made me be up to date! Also, it's fun more than anything else! ππβ
Though the workshop was at times frustrating, I did learn a lot. I'm proud of the work I accomplished. My project goals were a little lofty for vanilla js, but I somehow made it work. π€·πΎββοΈ The only reason I gave 4/5 stars (it would have been 4.9/5 had the option been there) is because a lot of the content in the course material is a little outdated, but not so much so that it can't be dealt with. Overall, great class! Iβm excited to enroll into SheCodes+ React and further my programming knowledge.

As a graphic designer I usually only make the designs of websites, dead prototypes you could say, but I always felt like there was some important knowledge missing. I wanted to learn what a web programmer/designer actually can do and what not β and now I feel like I'm a big step closer after the 3 weeks course. I'm really excited for the SheCodes Plus Workshop!
Before, I learned the basics of Python myself, but only the SheCodes course allowed me to feel confident in coding. The videos were short and the topics were clearly explained. I finally felt that coding could be fun. I'm looking forward to the lessons from SheCodes Plus.

This is a solid course that covers the basics of coding in an easy, comprehendible way for beginners such such as myself. I learned a lot not only from Matt, but from previous students through the platform Slack; having a place to communicate with others and ask questions while going through the course lessons was super helpful and informative. The workload was never overwhelming, so I was actually able to enjoy the process of learning something new without having a deadline looming over me! I highly recommend this class!
At first I was affraid because I had no clue about coding, but this workshop taught me how easy it is, I will definitely keep learning, the possibilities are endless!
I am absolutely blown away! I honestly wasn't expecting an online workshop to be such a good learning experience. Matt is an incredible instructor and he made the lessons really fun. Every concept is broken down into bite sized portions, and while his lessons are clear, he also doesn't spoon feed you. You get to learn through hands on practice and trial and error, which really helped me understand the "why" behind the concepts. This course was challenging while still being totally doable. I was able to ask a ton of questions and get quick and helpful answers from both the other students and some awesome professional coders. Overall it's a 10/10! Thank you, SheCodes Team! π₯³

I thoroughly enjoyed my first workshop at SheCodes. It was a challenging yet rewarding experience and I have learnt a lot. Matt has a way of explaining complex concepts in a simple fun way.
Even though the course was only three weeks long, I learnt a lot about Javascript, CSS and HTML. I started with no knowledge at all and I thought I would struggle quite a bit but in the end I gathered a good understanding of programming and I feel comfortable with the topics we studied. I can't wait to continue with SheCodes Plus. π
These last few months have been so difficult but somehow I was still able to get this project done and still figure out life during a pandemic. Truly can't wait to learn more and grow to be a front-end developer.

I had a really good time learning to code! It was understandable and you had a deadline so it was superfun to challenge myself with this. I have never coded before and now, its making sense and it feels like I am in a new world and can totally benefit from this course in the future!

I have started to know SheCodes by doing the "SheCodes Workshop". I was so fascinated by it that I decided to do "SheCodes Plus React". I just finished my second course with them and I feel so empowered by everything I learned in here. SheCodes Plus is great if you are looking for a new challenge and you want to learn something new! The learning process is very clear and you can always go back and review some of the older concepts! Great course!Can't wait to start React!
A well structured and organized workshop! It was challenging at first but you just have to keep going. The project was a fun way to practice what I learned. After completing the first project, I'm excited to learn more about what else I can do with code.
I learned a lot in this program, and it gives you a great sense of accomplishment to be able to complete the weekly challenges; however there were a few aspects that, I believe, need to be explained in more detail. Otherwise it is a great course that gives you a in depth sense of what coding is like.
I started to learn coding by myself, which was sometimes not very motivating, specially when I had thousands of questions. When I joined SheCodes, I started to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Matt's explanations and examples are super clear, and the community and the SheCodes technical support is a big plus. I am very grateful that I joined and I can only encourage every woman, who has an interest in coding (no matter your background) You can do it!
I never needed to use the help service so can't say anything about that, but for the one motivated to learn this is a great way to get a structure to the learning process. Also, the videos are very easily formulated so anyone with the will can easily follow.
I loved this course! The explanation that Mat gives is so clear and he teaches exactly the kind of stuff I wanted to learn in a basic course. The set up of weekly learnings and homework (with deadlines π) worked so well for me, as well as the challenges after each video. This way the learnings could be put into practice immediately!
It was a big challenge, with a lot of work, but in the end the result was awesome and I learned a lot about Front End Development and how to do it. The way that Matt teaches us is really easy to understand JoΓ£o also had an important role in my progress, helping me with each doubt I had. And also Daniela, organizing my course calendar to fit with my current full time job, so that I could complete the course.

I started my journey as a refresher to prepare for an interview. I chose this bootcamp because I was very impressed with Matt's mission of helping more women to start careers in tech. Matt and his staff, Joao and Daniela just to name a few, are very dedicated to each student. I'm amazed by how they manage to answer everyone's question in our Slack community. SheCodes helped me to discover where my skills were deficient while also rekindling a love for coding that was different from classroom learning. I recommend this coding bootcamp for beginners because Matt teaches on a level that anyone could understand. But with anything it will take commitment, hard work, asking lots of questions, if you don't understand a concept break down the concept until you understand it, and never by any means quit on yourself for you are worth it.
Challenging, but I learned some decent information in an organized manner that I would not otherwise be able to learn from simply scouring the internet.

This was a great introduction to coding. I really liked the way it was broken out into digestible segments that made moving through the material easy and motivating. The course load was very manageable with a full time job and you learn a lot in a short period of time!
I found the workshops challenging-in a good way! Definitely requires your commitment to the course material but it is an awesome introduction to the world of coding. It's self-paced and engaging and the environment is focused on learning through first-hand experience.

These were such amazing courses! I loved learning step by step the "how to" in basic HTML, Javascript, and CSS to the intensity that came with the React application. The course was amazing for beginners: an intuitive setup with great, short and easy understandable videos to learn all essential basics of coding combined with hands-on tasks and projects and a very logical and useful program structure. I loved that I could do everything at my own pace and was still motivated with the fixed deadlines and could get support whenever needed.
