I really enjoyed taking the SheCodes Basic Workshop. Learning a new skill I never in a million years thought I would do. I wanted to try something completely new from what I do for work on a daily basis since I have worked in the same field since I graduated college (10+years). The lectures are super easy to follow and I was able to troubleshoot most of my coding issues myself or by using the slack channel. I highly recommend anyone that is on the fence about this program to give it a try.

I've always been interested in learning how to code but the information seemed so expansive that I didn't know where to start. The way the curriculum is structured allows me the space to practice and make mistakes but also the ability to create something of my own. I was hesitant at first cause coding is more like a man-relating thing and it seemed to be difficult to learn. But SheCodes courses are very easy to understand and practical. This was a good workshop! Learned a lot.
I personally feel quite strongly that it's important to learn new skills from people who are passionate about them. It is clear that Matt is very passionate about teaching these skills in a clear, uncluttered and approachable manner. Each concept is introduced in a bite size video that is easy to fit into a corner of your day without feeling overwhelmed. I've learned that while there are endless possibilities of things any person can accomplish in theory, the surest way to actually do a thing is to make it easy for yourself. This course has made coding easy and convenient for the beginner. The variety of resources made available through the SheCodes site such as color palettes, cheat sheets and CSS code generators also show the attention to detail put into the process. Then there is the other half of the matter: access to a community of like-minded women ready to help when you get stuck. This eliminates the feeling of isolation despite being 100% online. All in all the whole learning experience feels very thorough and well thought out. Thank you to Matt and the SheCodes Team for all the care you have put into designing the SheCodes journey.
This is an amazing course! I started this course to learn how to code websites rather than relying on the drag & drop method and feel very confident to test my skills out immediately. Very excited to be moving on to the Plus workshop to continue to learn more! π
I was nervous because this was my first time learning how to code, but everything was explained clearly so I could follow along and play with each new element or property that was taught. I liked that I could learn at my own pace and start building my coding vocabulary. Coding isn't scary and can be very fun!
Coming into this workshop with no experience it was easy to be a bit nervous. However, I was determined to learn something Iβve always been interested in and Iβm glad I took the opportunity. The lectures were simple to follow and the concepts I learned are extremely valuable. Iβve already recommended SheCodes to friends I know are also interested to learn the basics of coding. Iβm already looking forward to taking the PRO workshop!
After taking a computer science class in college, I never thought that I would be interested in coding again and see my potential with it! Great to know that you learn how to code at any time. Coding is really fun, it is very satisfying to construct a page and experience how ideas are materialized. The team has been most supportive, questions get answered promptly. I work in a completely unrelated field (healthcare), but felt like I wanted to pick up another skill/hobby when I happened to come across SheCodes. It's a great beginner-friendly workshop. Before this workshop, I knew absolutely nothing when it came to coding, all throughout high school I never took any computer classes because at the time it just didn't seem like an appealing career to me, but I wanted to learn something new and determine if this could become a new career possibility for me. It definitely has helped me decide as someone who is 20 and has literally no idea what career they want.

I completed SheCodes React as part of the SheCodes Pro package. I do not think without SheCodes I would be able to say I can confidently code a website and web app from scratch. React takes your learning from Javascript to a whole new level. The workshop provides a good and informative learning curve to get to grips with React as I do not think I would have been able to learn the framework on my own.
I would 100% recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn the basics of coding and website building. The lessons are very easy to follow and the weekly challenges make it very practical and help staying engaged with the content!

I've been curious about coding since 1 year ago, when a friend gave me a glimpse of what front-end development was. Following this introduction, I started looking for online courses so I could learn without abdicating from my daily (and full-time) job as physiotherapist. I tried many different online resources, but it was when I stumbled upon SheCodes on Instagram that my interest started to feel like an actual career possibility as I was reading the different testimonies. The start of the course was exhilarating to me: after working from 9am to 5pm, I would come home excited to learn new things at the rhythm of Mattβs explanations. What I thought could be a hard thing to reconcile - my daily job and the coding assignments - turned out to be quite affordable (not only in price but also) in self-motivation to do more and better. Overall the course is simple, organized, well-explained, inexpensive and gives me lots of tools far from the coding itself as I learned how to Google my obstacles away in a productive manner. Furthermore, I think itβs great to know that you are not alone in the learning process, as there are many others sharing their own doubts on slack! I completely recommend this course, especially for people in the same situation as myself who have found an interest and would love to explore it without compromising their current economic safety :)
The SheCodes video classes and their other resources are amazing, and the team is extremely helpful. Matt's videos are very easy to follow and I love the fact that they are not scripted so we can learn even more from him as he films himself coding in real-time with all the inherent challenges. Another plus is Matt always shows us the best coding practices, even when he says: "You don't have to do this but I highly recommend (...)" π So I can't recommend this workshop enough for people who are beginning their coding journey like me. It is a bliss!!

I saw the add on Snapchat and was intrigued by the name, so I clicked on it and when I saw that they offered a free introductory class I was sold. I've wanted to learn coding for a long time, but couldn't find anywhere to learn so immediately after the free class I signed up for a workshop and I have truly enjoyed the lessons. It is a great way to learn coding and I look forward to learning more!

These three weeks were pretty enriching for me. Learning web development had always been at the back of my mind but somehow I could not begin.
