SheCodes introduced a world of the CSS, HTML and JavaScript to me, and the main thing - how all of them are connected and synchronized. With tiny steps we learned all those scary-complicated processes and functions, by the end you feell yourself empowered and inspired. Honestly - it was not that easy for me to integrate all the tasks into my full-time job + other course daily routine, but with the help of extentions the journey finished successfully.
SheCodes Basics is an excellent course! Matt's course design is brilliant. He provides information bit by bit with relevant and engaging challenges throughout, so learners can apply the new concepts. I really enjoyed this course and am looking forward to SheCodes+!
It's been an amazing journey for me learning coding from HTML to CSS to Javascript and React! I actually feel sad that this is the end for shecodes. It was absolutely amazing to learn to create responsive websites. I get more and more interested as I continue to learn new coding tools.The third workshop completed and time to start my React journey!
Really enjoyed the course - it was well-paced and full of content! I have definitely learnt more than I would have trying to teach myself. The videos and exercises are great and having support via Slack is vey helpful.
This was a blast to start learning. All in all, unlike when I tried doing coding when it was offered to me as a class in university, all I got was no help and I got more confused as the classes got more difficult. I thought it would be the same case, but signing up to SheCodes was easier than that with all the proper simplified explanation rather than the over-complicated ones that I am glad that I started on this!

I have always wondered how to make websites that would scale correctly depending on the device they were viewed on. Despite looking fairly complex at the beginning, we've learnt that there are tools out there that are designed to help code responsive website without massive overhead and a fairly detailed documentation. A brief overview of SEO requirements was also good but fairly limited and will require a little more research but this wasn't the purpose of the workshop after all! I would recommend taking this workshop as it has given me the confidence to code an entire website that is functional on all platforms!
SheCodes Plus have helped me understand coding much deeper. Definitely feel myself learning and am excited to be another step closer to becoming a web developer!

What a great experience! The free workshop was EXACTLY what I needed to finally make the jump into coding that I had been thinking about for so long, and the Basic workshop solidified my hunger for more. Matt is an excellent teacher and his love and enthusiasm for coding are infectious. SheCodes Responsive is my favorite SheCodes workshop so far. I enjoyed getting creative designing my final project, learning strategies of responsive design and SEO, and putting everything together that we've learned in the other workshops. I'm ecstatic to now have coded my very own portfolio.
Before joining SheCodes workshops I couldn't have imagined I would enjoy coding. But after just three weeks I am able to already understand some basic things and want to learn more. The lessons are divided in small chunks so it is easy to squeeze them in daily schedule and allows to process information step by step. This approach also helps to boost your confidence in what you're doing and helps to achieve more.
What an engaging and fun introduction to coding! Matt's step-by-step videos were exactly what I needed to get into coding without getting overwhelmed! While going through this course, I laughed, I shouted, and I learned A LOT. Plus, I love the org's overall mission and the meaningful impact SheCodes has worldwide.

I learned a lot from the basic workshop I took. It seemed like a lot of information because I'm very new to coding, but it was interesting, easy to learn and the assignments/homework were fun to do. If you're on the fence about taking this course, just do it, it's a great way to find if coding is right for you. I'm looking forward to learning more in a more advanced workshop.
This experienced helped me learn how coding works by seeing it in a visual format. It made coding a fun activity for me and made my coding class at school easier.
I learnt a lot, and the course is very challenging. I do feel that some more complex areas were glossed over a bit. Although these concepts were shown/explained in the main project videos, I think it would have benefitted with more 'lessons' to demonstrate these methods more clearly so that I could get a bettter grasp of them, instead jumping straight into the projects so soon. I will definitely need to re-visit the videos again.
I never would have thought I'd learn so much in such a small space of time! The projects are really fun and interesting, and key processes are repeated, so you find yourself becoming familiar with writing React code and debugging quickly. I'll really miss this journey! Thank you SheCodes team! :)

I am so surprised with how much I learned over these 3 weeks! The course is explained well and is a very good introduction. My husband is a web developer and is impressed with my knowledge and use of html, css, and javascript.
React is not an easy technology and in the beggining I was having a hard time getting used to it, but when you get the hang of it, it's great! I did this course while working and still didn't feel very tired because the way it is structured allows you to go at your own pace but to still have clear objectives. For people who want to learn how to code and have no experience, this is a great place to learn. Matt and the team are great, always ready to help.
It was a lot of fun, especially learning all the responsive tipps and tricks. Loved the final project, it was great to work quite free and creative on your own website π
I learned so much in just three weeks - I had a basic knowledge of coding before, but now I have a deeper understanding of how all websites work. It was a great experience!
Loved this course! I'm utterly shocked at how much I've learned and my new capabilities! I appreciate the ability to take breaks/ask for extensions, it really lets you learn at your own pace since life can strike at any moment. I took this class to get into web development and I know I have more to learn but I'm excited and confident in my new skillset.
I didn't have a concrete reason to start learning code, but when I saw the Instagram ad for the free seminar I was intrigued and had to try it out. Turns out - I love coding! The SheCodes team have put together a very well organized course in introductory coding that is easy to follow and has a great outcome. I really enjoyed the freedom of learning on my own schedule. With SheCodes I was able to start on any Monday of the month. I really enjoyed how Matt took the time to help us solve the problem, without feeling rushed. As a person that is new to UX Design, I found this workshop to be helpful in learning basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

SheCodes Basics has been really wonderful. I got to learn basics of HTML, CSS and Javascript and put all those knowledge in use while working on the project. The challenges at the end of each lesson really test your understanding which I feel was very helpful. I would definitely encourage women who are thinking in terms of coding to try the Basics workshop. It is fun, enjoyable and you get to learn actual coding !!!
I loved SheCodes so much! Matt made it so easy to learn the basics of front-end development. The lessons are very short and digestible, but long enough to get all the necessary information needed to complete your challenges and homework. The project was SO fun and I found it very easy to apply what I've learned to create my page. I'll definitely be taking a more advanced course in the future.
SheCodes has been an amazing journey. SheCodes Basics has simply been the best place for me to actually learn the fundamentals of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. We used real tools, and thus got to work in the environment that professionals operate in. Lessons are very hands-on and you need to use the knowledge you've learnt in a lesson in the next challenge, so you have to pay attention. It is no problem though, because Matt keeps it very fun, up-beat and engaging. I would highly recommend SheCodes for any girl/woman/lady+++ who wants to learn how to code.
This was my last workshop with SheCodes and a great addition to the Basics, Plus and React. Building responsive websites is the future. You will learn so many new things. I highly recommend it as Matt explains everything in detail and the final project is so much fun.

I always thought coding was beyond me as it looked quite complex and overwhelming at first, but going through the course SheCodes Basics by Matt you learn step by step and break it down into smaller chunks. To me, it is liken to putting puzzle pieces together to form that bigger picture you had in mind! I highly recommend it as it challenges you to be creative and persevering. Also, it definitely opens up new doors for your career! π
I've tried many coding tutorials in the past, but SheCodes teaches material in a way that is fun and engaging. The material is taught in a manner where the student is not overburdened with trivial technicalities but given the necessary tools to explore and create projects that correlate well with real-world use cases. I'm very excited to make use of my skills, and I've learned more in 3 weeks than I ever did 6 months into so called web development courses.

Simply amazing! I cant believe I learned how to code a basic webpage in two and a half weeks. The last time I ever manipulated a HTML was to add music on MySpace in 2005. I did not think that I would be able to pick up this skill so quickly but with Matt's guidance and thorough explanation through each solution I was able to practice and produce a functional visible code starting from a blank page.
Absolutely LOVED this!! I loved the set up of learn, challenge, solution. I learned so much and I want to learn more!! I feel so confident in what I have learned.

Iβve always wanted to learn web development and chose SheCodes because it allowed me to learn anytime. As a full time working parent, finding an online course that I could fit into my schedule was really important. I was able to learn a lot and put it together to create project, something I wasnβt able to do with other online tutorials. Matthew does a great job of explaining everything. The SheCodes Basics course enabled me to obtain a fundamental understanding of coding in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The course length and format were perfect for my needs and learning style.
This is my third workshop. It incorporated and added to the knowledge acquired in the prior 2. I can't say that I enjoyed all of it, but I certainly learned a lot. It is intensive. But it did get easier as I proceeded through the course.

I studied graphic designing and I am currently living in Minnesota. I am absolutely new to coding but I was always curious to know how code works and I decided to take my curiosity to a step ahead and decided to learn code π.
I was able to learn at my own pace, which was perfect! I have a full-time job and trying to balance my current job with learning to code seemed like it couldn't be done. Thanks to SheCodes I have been able to start the process and enjoy every step of the way!

I really enjoyed the SheCodes basics workshop and will continue with the SheCodes Plus course! I wanted to learn to code for the longest time but none of the courses online appealed to me. Then I found SheCodes! I would highly recommend everybody that has interest in learning how to code to join the free coding class. The way the course is structured and explained (Matt is a GREAT teacher!!) is what convinced me, during the week you have exercises to do and you end the week with homework you have to send in. You learn by doing it yourself but you have a wonderful team and community to help you if when you are stuck! I also think that SheCodes have a great mission as a company, inspiring more women to enter the Tech industry!
