I loved these last 3 weeks. I had previous knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS before joining SheCodes, but this was the most hands on I have been with a class. It was exactly what I was looking for, and it was awesome! The video courses, challenges, and homework were so much fun to do - and I'm ending this first workshop with more confidence, and a better understanding of the basics of coding! Can't wait to code more!

Wow! I've learned so much! I love how fast paced this is. And I love all the small lessons before the big homework assignment.

I never thought learning code would be so fun...not easy though! Matt explains everything but you really need to commit. If you have a full time job as I, you may need to plan ahead. But for real the structure, the content and the homework is to the point, not to mention the exceptional support in Slack app. Thumbs up! 😁

I took this class to look into whether coding was something that would interest me. I loved the self-paced timeline of the program. I also really enjoyed that each homework assignment left you with a bit of a challenge that you were not taught, so you had to do some experimenting/digging to figure it out! Excited for what is next!

I love SheCodes! I decided to take the SheCodes workshops during Quarantine, and it has been a great way to grow my knowledge of coding and have something productive to do with all of my extra free time indoors. I really recommend SheCodes to those who want to acquire new skills. At first I knew nothing about coding (whats more, I couldn’t tell the difference among HTML, CSS,Java Script before this course). However it’s wasn’t any problems at all. Video includes visual understanding and clear instructions. Every challenge and homework always makes me feel motivated and accomplishment.I was so lucky to have this opportunity.

SheCodes Workshop totally exceeded all expectations of what I thought the course would be like, and what I would gain from doing it. The prospect of learning how to code (effectively from scratch!) was daunting at first, but the course format, structure of each lesson, set tasks/challenges and weekly homework projects made my coding journey not only fun and digestible, but also extremely rewarding. Being able to receive personal feedback as well as learn and take inspiration from other coders on the Slack channel was a real bonus, and it has been great to be part of the community! I had an interest in learning how to code but I thought it was going to be hard for me to learn. SheCodes made it easy to understand, and enjoyable to learn. I always felt like if I was stuck on something, help was right there. Matt explained each assignment/homework so that it wasn't difficult. He made everything do much easier to understand. I am glad that I decided to take this workshop. It's really cool how easy and fun the learning process was. But at the same time, we had complicated homework and projects. I only took three week's workshop, but it gave me an understanding of Front-End Development.

I was really amazed by the content and structure of the course. Combining short, precise "theory" parts with exercises and the possibility to regularly review the content in terms of homework is really great. It perfectly fits with a busy work schedule and I am really keen on keeping learning. But to be honest the greatest benefit is the community: Matt and the whole team are really helpful and it is great to connect with the other students.

I am currently working in the Sales Department at a Tech company and I signed up for SheCodes as a way to up-skill and broaden my technical knowledge. I started as a beginner since all the knowledge that I had was based on my MySpace HTML time, from about 15 years ago 🙂 The workshop is easy to follow and the challenges and homework fun to solve. SheCodes comes with a great community of other women interested in coding that you can connect and interact with via Slack 👩🏼‍💻👩🏽‍💻👩🏿‍💻and support is always available too! I had a great experience with SheCodes. Working in the IT industry for a little over two years, I grew interested in learning about the fundamentals of web development; plus, I wanted to expand my skillsets and knowledge outside of my profession. SheCodes gave me a foundational understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavasScript that I know will benefit my career development and growth. The tutorials were helpful, and the homework did a great job at encompassing what we learned for each week. All in all, it was a wonderful journey!

I would really recommend this three-week workshop of SheCodes!! Matt's way of teaching is very efficient and simple so it is very easy to understand and put what you learned into action. The homework helps you put into practice what you just learned, which is great since you learn best by doing. I really like Shecodes workshop and its structure, in particular the challenges after each lesson, the homework each week and the big final project. The course is very interesting and fun. I really like the structure of Shecodes: bite-sized, digestible lessons; challenges after each lesson; homework each week and a big project in the end. The course is demanding, yet not less interesting and fun. Matt's instructions are really insightful and easy to understand. In only a few minutes, each lesson manages to tap into a new useful area. I really like the networking opportunities with SheCodes as well. The student support team here is also super fast, friendly and helpful. This is my first Coding Course and I highly recommend SheCodes to any rookies out there!!

SheCodes taught me a lot about the fundamental pillars of code such as CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. I have been struggling to learn code on my own, but with this workshop it made complete sense! The videos were easy to follow, homework assignments were challenging, and the final project gave us creative freedom. I really enjoyed the coding workshop. I was very excited about the weekly homework challenges where I was coding on my own and creating from scratch. I’m happy I took this course because now I can use this knowledge at my UX Design job.

After completing the Introduction to Coding course back in summer, I was looking forward to developing my knowledge and testing myself - the Plus course definitely delivered! On many occasions I found myself frustrated when working through the weekly lessons and challenges, but when I began the homework I was surprised to realise how much I'd actually taken in and that it was a lot easier than anticipated. It was really fun and I've loved working on my project, from building my initial wireframe to spending hours working on and streamlining my JavaScript. There are some improvements that I'd like to have made to the code of my final project, but I took on board Matt's advice of only coding what you understand, not copying and pasting. I know that with time and patience I'll gain an even more advanced understanding, but I'm pretty stoked with what I've built considering six months ago my only knowledge of code was (very) basic HTML from the days of MySpace!

SheCodes was a wonderful experience! The lessons were informative and I really enjoyed completing the challenges and homework to test my knowledge. These exercises could be frustrating, but there were plenty of resources available and the solutions for review were great. I'm so glad I enrolled!

I can highly recommend SheCodes courses. The lessons are presented in a very comprehensive way and it makes a lot of fun to work on the challenges as well as the weekly homework.

Quick course and the self-pacing was great. I was able to complete the course in a week. This is definitely a course for BEGINNER coders. If you have any coding experience, you will likely feel as though this course moves slowly (many of the videos were review for me). As a teacher, I was disappointed to find when I wanted to complete more advanced coding in my homework and I told to hold off and instead register for one of the more advanced courses and wait to try it then. It made me feel as though the instructor's help was not really helpful and I was passed off for wanting to try to complete some of the work shown in an advanced video.

So far very good! There is so many different online choices but this makes a difference: workshop way of working (with homework, deadline and homeworks to submit) and possibility to have support from the SheCode team if you have some issues (kind of mentoring on demand). Continue offer great product & service! Small future suggestion: as some videos were done in the past, update new info/changes eg. What is the difference between JavaScript 6 and the newest one.

SheCodes is wonderful! The videos are clear, well structured, and organized. It's also an asynchronous class - you can learn and work on your homeworks/projects whenever convenient for you. I finished the three-week coding class in a week and was surprised by how much knowledge I gained already! I'm excited to unfold what the next class has for me. Highly recommended!

A great course for beginners definitely worth it. I loved the fact that the curriculum is divided in several short videos and after each video you get to apply what you have learned in the challenge and afterwards combine everything you have learned in the homework and finally in the final project. The lesson videos were clear and concise. Teaching was very structured, allowing me to practise what I learn through the small challenges and homework so it didn't feel too difficult and gave me confidence one step at a time to progress until the project at the end of the course.

It was great learning the basics of coding! Matt always explains everything clearly, sometimes with funny analogies to make things easier to understand, and I've been having fun doing the challenges and homeworks. I can't wait to start SheCodes+ and learn even more!

I liked it! It didn't go too fast and if it went too slow I could speed up Matt :D I got to learn what coding is and got a taste of the possibilities! I recommend keeping notes per language. It helps to find stuff again for the last piece of homework! Looking forward to learn more!

I really enjoyed the SheCodes workshops! I enrolled to refresh my web development knowledge, as I haven't touched it in 5 years, and wound up getting a proper grasp on some things that I'd used previously used but hadn't really understood. The videos explain things quite well, the bite-sized exercises and homework really help reinforce the learnings, and completing the final project really brings a sense of achievement.

This was a great introductory class. I was worried when I signed up for it, since I am working full time. However, the homework and classes were straight forward and can be completed on the weekends!

This was such a fun, interactive way to learn something new this year. My husband is a data scientist and he has the mindset that everyone should know a little coding so I decided to do all of the SheCodes workshops to introduce myself. The project, while a little challenging at times was so fun to create and now I have something I can show friends/family to show my progress. Having the homework keeps me accountable and Joao answered more than a couple of my problems I was having through slack. I would definitely recommend!

An excellent introduction to basic coding concepts with small challenge tasks that give you enough information to get started and see how different languages work together without overwhelming with technical jargon. Homework projects consolidate the work done in the week and encourage you to research solutions and build your knowledge. This is genuinely a great course for beginners to start building understanding, skills, and confidence.

I love this coding workshop! The videos and lessons are clear and easy to understand. I really like how it is setup. We learn a little bit, then practice, then apply everything learned that week in a larger homework. Then at the end of the course we applied everything we learned into a project. I liked that we got to decide what we wanted to do for the project.

The course is very well-structured, Matt explains everything in a very clear (and fun) way. I found every homework very challenging: you have really to think about solutions and possibilities. I love learning by doing and this is the only useful way to learn for me. I am working as an Email Marketing manager, but I’ve never attended a proper coding course before this. This coding workshop could be beneficial for all digital marketers out there (I've already recommended to some colleagues of mine). Who would have thought that learning the basics of HTML, CSS and Java Script would be so easy and such fun! Granted, there were a few details that it took me a bit of time to get a hang of and in other cases trial and error technique was necessary, but all in all it was a great experience. It did take me more than five hours a week to complete the lessons and homework, though. My average time spent per week was about eight to nine hours. Matt has a great way of making you understand the functionality of coding with humor and creativity. Even though you don't learn in a group the videos make you feel as part of a community. On slack you can get all the help you need from SheCodes employees and other students, giving you the secure feeling that there is always someone there to help if you get stuck. Summa summarum: It was a great experience and I learned a lot in a very short time. Having a better understanding of all the work and functions behind even the simplest website really changed my perspective on my user experience online.

I'd learned the fundamentals of HTML & CSS previously, but was beginning to find it difficult to start putting it to proper practice. The workshop was a great refresher and helped me consolidate what I'd already learned, with the added bonus of breaking into JavaScript as well! I first came across SheCodes through on ad on Youtube and I have never been more thankful! I think Matt has a great way of explaining concepts and I particularly like how there's challenges and homework to complete which gives some practical exercises instead of just going over theory. After completing the 3 week course I feel much more knowledgeable about coding especially having no prior experience before. I would definitely recommend SheCodes for anyone who would like to gain some more coding knowledge!

I had such a fun time learning React and I can't wait to continue my coding journey. I've enjoyed the way the courses are structured; there are small challenges in every lesson to practice along the way before tackling the bigger weekly homework. Matt also gives an emphasis on correct workflows and gives tips on the best ways of staying organised, which have been really useful. I've recommended SheCodes from the start and I'd love to take another course if more are offered in the future!

This is my second workshop with SheCodes. João Lopes was very helpful when I was having a hard time with some of the homework.

My introduction to SheCodes was through the 1-hour free coding workshop. I enjoyed Matt's informal style of teaching and camaraderie and decided to sign up for the beginner programme. I am happy to say that his style of teaching carried on through the weeks. He breaks down the concepts into simpler details that are easy to understand. I really enjoyed the fact that for the weekly homework, I could go further than what was required as long as I used the concepts I learned during that week. The final project also created an opportunity for me to create a page for something I have been wanting to. SheCodes radio was also an additional interesting feature. I have enjoyed it and will definitely be pursuing coding further.

Three weeks ago I knew nothing about coding, and now I've created my own landing page. 😎 The SheCodes lessons were clear and easy to follow. Homework and weekly challenges were scaffolded and helpful, and I appreciated receiving fast and reliable support-- not to mention connecting with women all over the world via slack! After completing my introduction to coding, I decided to embark on this amazing course to keep on learning and challenging myself. I already recommended this workshop to one of my colleagues and would definitely recommend it to anyone who does not know anything about coding. The pre-recorded lessons extremely convenient since you can work on each project|| homework on your own time and pace. "She codes" has made me fall in love with coding.

Highly Recommend! Coming from a Textile Design background I had no prior knowledge of coding, but wanted to expand my skillset. The videos explaining were easy to follow. It was a great introduction into coding. I enjoyed the project and homework aspect, it allowed me to better understand the lessons.

SheCodes was a great introduction to the world of coding, and now I am more excited and motivated than ever to start my journey to becoming a developer. The challenges after each topic and the weekly homework kept me more accountable and focused. Matt was a very engaging instructor and the other admins on the slack chat were very helpful. Highly recommend this workshop to get started.

I am right-brain oriented--and with an arts and humanities background--the idea of me even considering a coding class was insane and nerve wracking. While using COVID as an excuse to try something new but practical, I decided to take the coding workshop and I am so glad I did. Matt's instruction and explanations are clear and concise, the lesson challenges aren't daunting but helpful, and finishing the homework and final project was incredibly rewarding. I look forward to taking Plus and Plus React in the future!

At times, I found the course quite challenging but I was determined to not ask for help and find out the solution on my own. It is so rewarding with being able to do it correctly! I would recommend this course to anyone looking to get a basic knowledge of coding. The videos and challenges made it really simple to understand and really enjoyable! The homework and final project that was set was fun as well I'm hoping to be able to continue onto SheCodes Plus soon!

After finishing the workshop I was afraid that I would not be able to finish Plus and later React but the small steps in each video and each homework helped me to realize that I was able and it became a lot more gratifying to finish each stage. I'm really excited to start React!

I have thoroughly enjoyed the SheCodes workshop. The lessons were engaging and simple to understand. Each homework and challenge allowed me to apply what I had learnt from the lessons and experiment with the software. I would highly recommend SheCodes Workshop to anyone who wants to get a taste of coding.

This introductory workshop is well structured and organized. You will learn the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and learn how to use VS Code slightly. The exciting and motivating part for me is that every lesson comes with a little homework. There is a deadline for a more significant assignment at the end of every week. Unfortunately, I work better with deadlines, so this has been motivating for me. Another excellent and positive feature is the Slack Channel. You can get to know other budding coders, ask questions, and get help on any coding problems. I am interested to see what the next workshop will teach me on coding. I highly recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to get a feeling of what you can do with coding.

I equated coding abilities with math. Since I struggled with math, I was intimidated for years to even try my hand at coding. Until now! Thank you SheCodes! The tutorials are easy to follow, the concepts broken down to make them understandable, and the homework helps you build up your knowledge as the course go. This is just the beginning :)

SheCodes Workshop was a great intro to coding. As a full time mom to a toddler, and working a full time+ job, I don't have a ton of free time. The SheCodes time frame allowed me to work a little bit each day to complete the challenges and homework, which I really appreciated! I loved the structure of the short videos, which allowed me to absorb the content and build on what I learned in the previous videos. The slack channel was a big help as well when I would get stuck on something. In the end, I am proud of my work and what i've learned in the intro class, and look forward to continuing on with my coding journey! Thanks SheCodes :)

Within the first day of SheCodes, I could see how powerful coding can be and I was inspired to utilize code for my passions. The lessons were easy to follow and I rarely sought out help since they were thorough. There is feedback on homework submissions and each lesson has challenges and solutions. SheCodes Workshop was a great overview of coding and I am looking forward to developing my skills further.

Although I had previously taken a web design course, that was over 10 years ago and I only learned HTML. It was really fun learning CSS, but my favorite part was adding JavaScript elements to my website! It was easy to follow along with Matt's instructions and I appreciated having the chance to practice my skills throughout the challenges and homework assignments. I'd definitely recommend this workshop for those who want a taste of coding and are interested in web design!

I am so glad I signed up for this - it's helped me realize how powerful and fun coding can be and I found myself eagerly wanting to code each day as I was excited to work on the homework and projects. I am excited to continue!

I had the best experience during the 3 weeks of the workshop: Matt is a great instructor and the rest of the team is super helpful and supportive. Loved the structure of the course: the videos, the challenges (that helped me cement all the learning without it being boring) and the week's homework. I wasn't expecting it but can actually say I had fun coding! Would totally recommend SheCodes to anyone interested in learning more about the coding world.

I really enjoyed the course in SheCodes, in fact I decided to continue with the other two parts. The explanations are clear and full of examples, the homeworks make the learning process easier and the suggested solutions are full of useful advices.
