As a beginner coder, building this Salsa webpage has been such an exciting learning journey. This project helped me understand how HTML, CSS, and JavaScript work together to create a real, interactive website. With HTML, I learned to structure my page with headings, images, and buttons. Using CSS, I styled everything β adding colors, hover effects, and even a dark theme that makes the page look modern. The most exciting part was using JavaScript to bring the page to life: when I click the button, the background theme changes, and the βLearn Salsaβ button interacts with the user by asking their name and details. At first, I struggled with small mistakes like typos and selecting the right button, but fixing those helped me gain confidence in debugging and problem-solving. This project showed me that even as a beginner, I can already create something fun, interactive, and meaningful. Itβs proof that with just the basics of web development, you can build a working application that feels professional. Iβm really proud of how far Iβve come!

I really enjoyed python, at first i thought it was going to be difficult, it turn out to be much fun, one great thing if python uses words not symbols or abbriviation like from html and java. My outstanding is Matt is a really good teacher, step by step you get to understand every detail.

I especially loved the repetition method, which was really helpful for JavaScript, it can be tricky to understand at first, but after revisiting each topic in multiple lessons, everything started to make sense.
I have no prior experience in coding, and my profession specialises in a totally different field. I decided to enrol in this course to develop skills and gain knowledge in technology, which is becoming an important part of our everyday life. I want to prepare myself to take on tech-related opportunities that may arise in the future. I want to have career pathway options and secure my future. I just finished the SheCodes Basics, and I know that I have a long way to go. But this course has been fun and informative. This year I wanted a way to capture and share memories from an upcoming camp without relying on others for photos. That idea sparked something bigger. I thought, why not create an app where everyone can collect and share their pictures in a fun, interactive way? But the problem was, I didnβt know how to code. I could design on Canva, but building an app felt impossible, especially since I couldnβt afford to hire someone. So I started looking into web design programs and discovered SheCodes, and signed up. Now, Iβm close to finishing my app using everything Iβve learned. I love that SheCodes lets me work at my own pace but still keeps me accountable with project deadlines. Even when I wasnβt ready, I could ask for extensions instead of giving up.Iβm so glad I chose this platform itβs made learning to code both accessible and enjoyable.

This multi page mock portfolio project required the implementation of most everything we learned so far, it was tough and took several tries to get the layouts correctly, but it was fun to see another project come together under Matt's guidance

Working on my 'AI Daily Challenge Generator' project has been an amazing experience. I wanted to build something that not only pushed my coding skills but also helped others stay motivated to learn new things every day. Integrating the AI API wasnβt easy, but I have learned so much along the way and it really stretched my problem-solving skills. Through this AI generator project, I explored AI tools, strengthened my coding abilities, and learned how to turn a simple idea into a functional project. Iβm really proud of what I was able to create with the step-by-step instructions of the wonderful teacher Matt Delac and I'm very excited that others can now use my daily challenge generator to get inspired too!
I learned a lot during this workshop. The final project that you slowly work towards completing is a lot of fun and very engaging. The step by step process makes it easy to pick things up as you learn more and build on existing skills. Everything is so well organized, it's very easy to go back to find anything you need to review again.

I find the work really challenging but also fun. The hours go by so quickly when Iβm coding and trying to debug my code. Sometimes I spend one hour searching, only to discover that a tiny bracket was missing, which meant my line of code wasnβt closed properly and the whole program was broken: nothing was happening. Coding definitely requires patience and an eye for detail. I enjoyed this workshop because we built the clock step by step, and it also reinforced techniques we had used in previous workshops.

Learning JavaScript has definitely been challenging, but the course has met and even exceeded my expectations. Working through projects like the weather app pushed me out of my comfort zone, but also gave me the chance to really understand how functions, APIs, and the DOM come together. Itβs not always easy, but seeing my code come to life makes all the effort worth it, and I feel much more confident moving forward.
I came to SheCodes Basics with a frustrating problem: I could copy and paste code snippets and make things work, but I had no real understanding of why they worked or how to fix them when they broke. I was essentially a code copier, not a programmer. This surface-level approach left me constantly hitting walls. When something didn't work as expected, I'd spend hours trying random solutions from Stack Overflow without understanding the underlying logic. I could build functional pages by piecing together tutorials, but debugging felt like pure guesswork. SheCodes Basics changed that completely. Matt's teaching approach focuses on the "why" behind every concept, not just the "how." Instead of just showing us syntax, he explained the reasoning behind HTML structure, the cascade in CSS, and the logic flow in JavaScript. This foundational understanding was exactly what I'd been missing.Now when I encounter issues, I can methodically identify where things are going wrong instead of randomly trying solutions. I understand the connection between HTML structure and CSS selectors, why JavaScript functions behave certain ways, and how different parts of a webpage interact with each other. Building the tribute website for my Akita Inu, Sakura, became an exercise in applying these debugging skills in real time. When the background image wouldn't display or the responsive layout broke, I could systematically work through the problem instead of panicking. SheCodes didn't just teach me to code better - it taught me to think like a developer and search and solve problems with logic rather than luck.
