SheCodes has been a game-changer for me. The courses are structured in a way that makes learning web development approachable and fun, even for someone like me who started with no coding background. The hands-on projects helped me build real skills, and the supportive community kept me motivated throughout. I am currently in school for a degree in media and communications studies. I also freelance as a social media manager, so I thought to myself, why not try to create a website for your brand and see what it feels like? I looked for affordable courses online where I could learn how to build a basic website from scratch, which is where I came across SheCodes. It's been a wonderful experience playing around with colors, fonts, and understanding what goes into building a functional website. I enjoyed every section of it. This was a bitter-sweet workshop with lots of new information and challenges. However, they were fun to do and easy to follow. The SheCodes Basics Add-on workshops were more challenging in the best way. I experienced the frustrations of a typo, the confusion of trying to understand my functions and the acquaintance of different forums to figure out why my code is not working or to find a workaround so I can visualize what I had envisioned.

Fun and interesting!

Really happy to be able to understand and build a responsive website without using a framework. In the world we live now, it's crucial to understand the fundamentals before using tools such as bootstrap, and now, with AI everyone is able to code, build and make applications without know what they are creating. In the same way I could change my tire on my car with the help from Chatgpt... but I probably wont become a mechanic.

Building this AI-powered tool with SheCodes’ API was both fun and eye-opening—it showed me what’s possible and inspired me to create more tools that use AI for good. As a designer and storyteller, I saw this as an opportunity to blend my love for storytelling with my passion for great user experience, creating a tool that sparks writers’ creativity. I’m excited to join the next add-on workshop and keep building!

As a beginner coder, building this Salsa webpage has been such an exciting learning journey. This project helped me understand how HTML, CSS, and JavaScript work together to create a real, interactive website. With HTML, I learned to structure my page with headings, images, and buttons. Using CSS, I styled everything — adding colors, hover effects, and even a dark theme that makes the page look modern. The most exciting part was using JavaScript to bring the page to life: when I click the button, the background theme changes, and the ‘Learn Salsa’ button interacts with the user by asking their name and details. At first, I struggled with small mistakes like typos and selecting the right button, but fixing those helped me gain confidence in debugging and problem-solving. This project showed me that even as a beginner, I can already create something fun, interactive, and meaningful. It’s proof that with just the basics of web development, you can build a working application that feels professional. I’m really proud of how far I’ve come!

I really enjoyed python, at first i thought it was going to be difficult, it turn out to be much fun, one great thing if python uses words not symbols or abbriviation like from html and java. My outstanding is Matt is a really good teacher, step by step you get to understand every detail.

The hands-on projects, clear explanations, and real-world examples made learning JavaScript, HTML, and CSS both fun and practical. I especially loved the repetition method, which was really helpful for JavaScript, it can be tricky to understand at first, but after revisiting each topic in multiple lessons, everything started to make sense.

I have no prior experience in coding, and my profession specialises in a totally different field. I decided to enrol in this course to develop skills and gain knowledge in technology, which is becoming an important part of our everyday life. I want to prepare myself to take on tech-related opportunities that may arise in the future. I want to have career pathway options and secure my future. I just finished the SheCodes Basics, and I know that I have a long way to go. But this course has been fun and informative. I thoroughly enjoyed the activities, and working on my final project was fun and satisfying. This is just the beginning. I am looking forward learning more!

Perfect balance of fun and challenging

The SheCodes Plus Add-on has been both fun and a bit challenging. Developing the World Clock project allowed me to revisit and apply many of the skills I learned in the previous modules. I’m happy to be back at coding, and I’m excited to continue my SheCodes journey!"

This year I wanted a way to capture and share memories from an upcoming camp without relying on others for photos. That idea sparked something bigger. I thought, why not create an app where everyone can collect and share their pictures in a fun, interactive way? But the problem was, I didn’t know how to code. I could design on Canva, but building an app felt impossible, especially since I couldn’t afford to hire someone. So I started looking into web design programs and discovered SheCodes, and signed up. Now, I’m close to finishing my app using everything I’ve learned. I love that SheCodes lets me work at my own pace but still keeps me accountable with project deadlines. Even when I wasn’t ready, I could ask for extensions instead of giving up.I’m so glad I chose this platform it’s made learning to code both accessible and enjoyable.

I had an amazing experience with She Codes! I went from zero knowledge to feeling like a mini tech girlie, and as someone exploring the tech world for the first time, this course was hands-down one of the best ways to do so. As a busy law student constantly dashing through deadlines, I truly appreciated the flexibility and support the course offered. It made learning coding not only possible but genuinely fun. This addon program gives alot more details and explanation on the functionality of CSS properties and how transformative it can be. It was abit tricky but overall, fun.

Matt makes it extremely easy to learn by DOING. If I have any questions about project, I get a reply in less than 24 hours. Excited to keep learning and make my own functional website one day!

Very challenging with javascript but had fun building this project

Easy to follow and builds on previous courses. It has helped me remember things and get more confident with functions.

This multi page mock portfolio project required the implementation of most everything we learned so far, it was tough and took several tries to get the layouts correctly, but it was fun to see another project come together under Matt's guidance

If you ever needed a little JavaScript crash course, this is a fun workshop.

Making a fully functional weather forecast seemed quite intimidating at first, but with the lessons it was quite easy to take it step by step and make something you can be proud of!

The short instructional videos make everything feel manageable. Long, dry lessons can cause people to lose interest, but SheCodes keeps learning fun, engaging, and accessible to everyone. Being able to apply what you learn right away makes the process easier and far more enjoyable.
