This course reinforced my understanding of creating clean, reusable single-function components, which makes a project far more organized and easier to understand. Building a fully functioning dictionary app using two different APIs was both challenging and rewarding.
SheCodes Plus was a great start to learning to code. Matt's lessons are clear and step by step, and you can tell he enjoys what he does. The javascript portions are tricky, but coding is all about getting the reps in. After only the first few weeks of the Plus course I was able to make significant changes to my report generator web program at work - changing the layout to be more sleek and user friendly, and adding better work flow functionality for my technicians. So much more to learn, but I'm very happy I used SheCodes as my intro to coding.
Coding is fun, learning about the power of API integration, user experience (UX) and Plugins/Libraries. The fact that I even know what all these key words mean over such a small space of time is incredible. I can't wait to learn more!

This one was super fun, learning how to use javascript at a higher level. I enjoyed learning about the select and option function, and using javascript to make changes to the html. I'm so ready to see what advanced javascript can do!

The 8 weeks of Web Development were quite challenging. Learning to build a weather app from scratch required patience, and I had to repeat some lessons to fully grasp functions and variables. I plan to continue practicing so I can further refine and strengthen my coding skills. Overall, it was worth it.

I really enjoyed this introduction to coding! As a UX Designer, I want to understand the coding side of everything more so I can communicate better with developers. This was a great addition to the Responsive workshop. We were taught the manual way of making a page responsive. Everything that Bootstrap and other platforms enable was done manually in this workshop and I appreciate that. It's good to know both so that you know what to apply when. It's also good to know so that if something is not functioning properly you have options. The project was a lot of fun!
I really enjoyed the end result, even though I struggled with React at first. Once the concept of components clicked, I was able to fully grasp how everything works and started making real progress. Even in those βwaitβ¦ what is going on?β moments, I still felt supported and motivated to keep going. By the time I wrapped up the World Clock, I wasnβt just typing code. This was the most fun I've had in a while! After learning so many new things in the previous courses, this project reminded me of the power of pure HTML and CSS. Being able to build a website without JavaScript was really satisfying! Diving into CSS Grids, HTML tables, and figuring out how to make it all responsive was incredibly fun and rewarding!
The SheCodes Responsive Add-On challenged me in the best way possible. I struggled initially with HTML structure, specifically fixing div closures and getting card layouts with embedded maps to display consistently. The course's hands-on approach forced me to debug real issues, which taught me more than any tutorial could. What clicked for me: understanding grid systems, properly nesting elements, and making design decisions that showcase technical skills to recruiters. I went from copying instructor code to confidently customising my project with Nairobi's innovation ecosystem, complete with iHub co-working spaces and strategic content that demonstrates product marketing thinking. The Responsive course final project was challenging yet totally fun! The knowledge I gained in Bootstrap directly applies to making any website responsive, and it showed me how many options you have to design a website based on your preferred style. The section on wireframes was incredibly useful and has me thinking constantly about how I can improve the design for users visiting my site. Another great learning experience!

This was so fun! I loved using Python and AI to create something useful! It was a lot easier than I thought it would be - and I could do most of it without looking things up, which I was very proud of. I will have fun playing around with this to create lots of different tools.

This was a great reinforcement of both Python and AI! I am doing so much better at just remembering how to build and call functions without having to look up previous work I've done as a reference. I am very excited to see what we encounter in the Advanced Python course!
