Couldn't believe what I have managed to learn and achieve with SheCodes! The style of learning suits me really well and I do strongly recommend to those who think coding is not their thing to at least give it a go! It's fun and a great way to challenge yourself :)
This workshop is amazing! The learning structure is very easy to follow with very well paced video tutorials that explain everything step by step and challenges that make you replicate the tutorials to really instill the knowledge in you. Support is there 24/7 if you need it and the coding is taught in a really fun way, I would definitely recommend to anyone, you don't even need that much time set aside for it.
SheCodes has been extremely helpful in demystifying coding for me. And the Challenges are fun! But still challenging.... a perfect balance.

What a fantastic workshop! The introductory course is laid out really well and Matt explains topics very clearly, especially to those with no coding experience. The Intro to Coding course was so easy to follow, yet still fun and challenging. I was especially impressed by how problem-solving skills for any issues or new concepts that may come up were subtly built in to each lesson.

I've never considered myself to be a "computer person". My dad is a Computer Engineer and growing up I admired that but only from at a distance. In my early 20's I dropped out of a traditional 4yr college and began my journey into Cosmetology. Once I passed my state board certifications I worked in several salons and I even got a part-time job as a banquet server. Soon I realized that I did not want to be a hairstylist but instead I pursued Hospitality and that's where I made my career over the past 10yrs. In March I was put on furlough for what my company said would only be 2 months. 2 months came and went and to this day I still do not know when or if I will ever return to my previous job. I started to think that I needed to change my career and did a lot of soul searching over the past few months. After narrowing down my search I decided to take a chance and start some coding classes. These first classes were very basic and less than stimulating but they made my brain work in a different way and it was challenging for me which is something that I have been longing to experience since being furloughed. I watched video after video and found that I did not like the lack of structure and that I knew I could benefit from some curriculum to follow as well. As I was scrolling through Facebook (thanks cookies!) an add for SheCodes came across my screen and I applied shortly after. These past 3 weeks have been challenging, fun and have made me feel like there will be a new future for me.
Before starting, I was expecting to learn a lot in 3 weeks but to be honest, not that much!! π The lessons are clear as crystal, the challenges are super funny to complete and the Slack workspace is very helpful. I'm so proud of my final project and can't wait to start a new workshop!
The SheCodes workshop allows users to understand webpage development in a fun and interactive way. It is clear and concise and has support each step along. Can't wait to start SheCodes Plus!
Joining SheCodes during the pandemic turned out to be a great idea. REACT is definitely a complicated language but, with the expertise of Matt's videos and the online community built around the program, it's been a fun way to learn something new. Completing all 3 programs has been quite the task but, I am stoked to finish and excited to see where this new found skill takes me.
These three weeks have been so much fun. I am currently looking to utilize my analytical skills to develop towards a more challenging but rewarding career and this Workshop really sparked my interest in coding.

When researching SheCodes and what technologies they covered in their workshops, React quickly piqued my interest. Seeing the real-world applications made it an easy decision to enroll. It was a lot of fun these past three weeks and I highly recommend this workshop for women who are not sure where to start. The videos are fun and easily able to follow. I had zero experience coming into this workshop and I loved every minute of it. It was not overwhelming, the support system is amazing and because of it I was able to complete the assignments and enjoy making them along the way. π
I have thoroughly enjoyed learning how to code through the SheCodes workshop and found Matt's lessons and challenges extremely useful. I feel I have a new skill now that I can continue to develop and possibly pursue a career in. I have already recommended it to friends as you get a great understanding of the foundation and fundamentals of coding compared to other courses being offered. My only issue would be the amount of 5 hours a week mentioned when I took the initial free workshop was not realistic for me as a complete beginner going through each lesson and challenge and then solution required time to absorb all of the new information I was receiving. I would therefore advise anyone who is new to coding and wants to take this course and has other commitments such as full time work, commuting, family etc to be prepared to block out time everyday to go through lessons otherwise it could become overwhelming to complete over the weekend.

I was super intimidated at first, I am not a computer person, so I thought I would have to study super hard to be able to learn how to start coding but its so much simpler than I thought, and its actually kind of fun. I have so many ideas, things I want to create once I'm done with all the workshops and really know what I'm doing.

Before I started this workshop, coding had been some "magic land" for me I had just heard something about, but actually I hadn't known how it works or how to write a code. I've learned a lot of things and had so much fun during creating my own website and combining my creativity with this "magic". The classes were really easy to understand, I was surprised how step by step, day after a day, I understood and remembered more and I was able to do more. It was also an amazing feeling to create something and see that it worked on the website (like a button or Java script). I would recommend this workshop to everyone who wants to start their journey with coding.
I had a lot of fun learning something new and trying the different challenges in every lesson. Everything is very comprehensive and Mark gives little tips along the way which are definitely helpful. Really recommend it!
I was looking for developing a new skill during lockdown when an ad for SheCodes popped up. The design was pretty cool and the video was interesting so I kept on watching. 30mins later I signed up for the Plus React workshop and have not looked back! The lessons are the perfect length with small challenges after so you are applying what you've just learned immediately. The introductory workshop made it fun and interesting and I am looking forward to continue learning. π€

I joined with zero knowledge about coding and just wanted to try something new. The lessons are well structured and challenging but also surprisingly fun. I was slightly worried about it feeling like an information overload, but the lessons and were broken out into manageable topics and Matt's way of teaching made it interesting. I'm really glad I signed up for the 3 week course and would recommend this to anyone trying to broaden their understanding of coding.

In college, I took an intro to coding class and the professor made it so confusing. I ended up dropping out and being scared of code since then. I've used a couple different online learning platforms for coding and find SheCodes to be the most educational, user friendly and fun! The way that each lesson builds is easy to understand and keeps you wanting more.
I found the pace of the curriculum to be a perfect fit for me. I like that I can re-watch videos or run through the assignments faster if I feel like I can. A fun introduction to front-end coding, I look forward to learning more! 4/5 stars because I think the learning platform design could be improved to make finding things more intuitive for the user.

SheCodes is an ideal environment if you want to learn how to code. *addiction alert*When you start coding with the support of Matt and the crew, it's hard to stop! Indeed it's a really funny and colorful coding project, with a lot of userful indications about auxiliary tools and websites. Also the Slack app where everybody's connected is a good way to get userful infos through other users experience.
Very useful! I studied computer science a while ago and forgot all my HTML/CSS/JS skills. It was really fun to refresh all that knowledge with this cool course :) Highly recommended!
It's been fun doing the challenges and Matt explains everything very well. The three weeks course is great for everyone, who is at their very beginning of coding.
SheCodes+ was a really fun and educational experience! I learned a lot about javascript and how to interact with api's, it can be frustrating at times but it's all worth it in the end.
SheCodes Plus is definitely a level up from SheCodes, but it was a lot of fun writing code and creating an application. It was challenging at times, however I really appreciate the pace of the course. I've learned a lot over the past 8 weeks, and this course has helped me realize that I want to pursue front-end development. Really excited to start the next course, React, and see where it all takes me.
This workshop was really fun! As a web merchandiser, I work every day with web developers and designers, and this course helped me have a better understanding of their reality and will surely help me communicate better with them. Thank you SheCodes!
I really enjoyed SheCodes Plus. It was challenging, but also very fun to be able to write code for a weather forecast which actually works. I loved getting more familiar with HTML, CSS and JS. Building this weather app was not easy, but definitely a fun challenge. The lessons are bite-sized and easy to understand. I think it is great that you have to do your own research as well. Finding out how to use the internet to help you figure things out is very helpful for the future. Having the great SheCodes community as a back-up is a big plus of this course. I can't wait to start with React!
My final workshop with SheCodes and I am so sad it's over! SheCodes has been so fun to help me learn and develop my skills as a designer while managing to still take complex concepts and break them into bite-size videos. When I first started this course I didn't know how much I would love coding and now on my last course of the React course, I feel so knowledgeable and ready to continue my coding journey outside of these lessons. I always thought coding was super hard and boring, and I could not contemplate ever learning this skill. How wrong was I? With the right teacher and resources it is definitely not only do-able, but FUN! Matt is a fantastic teacher, and with his clear and concise explanations learning to code is an achievable goal. Being able to not only watch, but then do really makes the whole learning experience amazing. I can't wait to start the SheCodes + workshop. I love being able to see what I code, transform into a beautiful website. Being able to see visually the result of a change really enables my brain to learn through trial and error. Love it, cannot rate this workshop highly enough. Bring it on!
It was really fun. I am happy that so fast and easy I started to coding, because I never thought I can do this.
I only started coding a month ago when I took the SheCodes intro course. SheCodes Plus was more challenging and rewarding. I am surprised at how quickly was able to learn this new skill. Matt's videos were very helpful and easy to understand. Whenever I hit a bump in the road there was a great community of support to help along the way. By the end of the course, you create a functional weather app using live data.
I really enjoyed SheCodes Plus. It was challenging, but also very fun to be able to write code to create an application. SheCodes React is a great way to learn and test your skills in React Development. Both challenging and fun, it's very rewarding to build your own project step by step. Matt is a great teacher with video lessons that are very clear and that keep you interested and engaged through all the process. The weekly assignment's deadlines are great to keep you in line! Overall I would recommend this to anyone taking their first steps in React Development.
