The Plus workshop was fun, but also challenging at times. However, whenever you run into a problem you can always count on Matt's colleagues or other students to patiently look into it and explain what can be done better. All in all, it was a great experience and I learned a lot, so I would definitely recommend!
The Basics workshop was so much fun! Thank you, SheCodes, for making coding fun to learn and accessible. The material is well-organized and strikes just the right balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application. I especially appreciate Matt's knack as a teacher 1) to frame the concepts in clear and memorable terms, 2) to pace how quickly new material gets introduced and digested, and 3) to tailor explanations pragmatically to what we need to know yet without dumbing any of it down merely because we're neophytes. I highly recommend this workshop to beginners with no prior coding knowledge.
I've had so much fun doing this workshop so far! I am currently working as a nurse and had absolutely no knowledge of coding or web development before this workshop. Matt is an excellent instructor! The lessons were thorough yet easy to understand and the challenges were engaging and fun to complete. I am excited to move forward into the SheCodes Plus workshop and learn so much more!
The videos paired with the assignments worked really well to get practical coding experience with the languages taught in this workshop. Had a lot of fun learning and it's made me eager to continue!

It has been so much fun to learn the basics of coding. Learning HTML and CSS is almost like playing. Javascript was a little bit trickier but once you get the hang of it, it is so fun to create functions and variables to allow users to interact with the page. I definitely can't wait to learn more!

I'm so excited about the knowledge and understanding I've gained through SheCodes Basics! My brain is now ticking with ideas of where I can use it, and I can already see how much easier it will be to communicate with engineers at my company. Most of all, I really had fun learning and got to be creative with my coding!
I found SheCodes structured enough for it to hold you accountable, but also fun and engaging. I am hoping to get onto the more advanced courses so I can learn more. I already had a bit of JS knowledge so the basics was not overly challenging, but I still enjoyed coding the project A LOT, it is my first real-looking webpage and I am quite happy with how it turned out!

SheCodes Basics was a great beginners course! I had some prior HTML/CSS knowledge from my MySpace days, but the instructor, Matt, did a great job going a little deeper into each topic. Javascript was brand new to me, so Week 2 was a little trickier but rewarding. Matt did a good job providing a clear overview of JavaScript basics. I loved all the exercises after each lesson, and I thought the weekly homework was an awesome way to put what I learned into practice. Overall, the course was appropriately challenging and fun!
This has been much more challenging but feels that much more rewarding. I've always liked coding but it's now that I realize that I think it's fun. The way JavaScript is taught in these lessons is far more digestible than in other courses, and while still difficult at times, not impossible. I feel that I've made it much farther than I have before. I already recommend these workshops to other people, and want to continue so I can get make a career out of this like I've wanted.

The units were entertaining, informative, and easily understood, even for a person who has absolutely zer0 coding and computer science background! This course was challenging in the best ways, however I was quite surprised at how naturally it came after getting a better understanding of the languages and the rules. I had way more fun then I was expecting too. π As a woman who works in the beauty industry I feel pretty bad ass knowing the basics of coding, and I'm excited to learn more!π©βπ»π©βπ»π©βπ»

SheCodes Basics is an easy step-by-step course that allows one to build knowledge regarding CSS and HTML. It was a very fun course to start learning coding.
This was so much fun! I learned so much, I will for sure do the she code pro as of next week. This 3 week courses was really needed in order to know if this is what I want to do in my life and I can guarantee you that if you like computer and problem resolution, you will love this program!
As an absolute beginner, my experience with SheCodes was great. I was afraid I would not be able to do it, that I would find it too hard or get stuck or just bored of it, but it was the opposite. Thanks to a great team that is always ready to support you and Matt's very clear lessons, I managed to get through all classes and challenges and I actually understood how much I like coding. This is of course just the beginning, but I have found something challenging and fun that I really enjoy doing. I suggest to everybody who is interested in coding to give this a try and not be afraid: it is gonna be a rewarding experience.

As someone who has always had an interest in coding and tech but never knew how to get in (and having left school!) I really thought I would never be able to learn a skill such as this. After being recommended the course through a friend I couldn't be happier with the results so far! Great teaching tools and support through the Slack community and fun challenges with the appropriate amount of 'hand holding' vs encouragement to find the answers yourself! As someone who knew 0% on how to code, there were plenty of TikTok videos that stated coding as a fun, new career path. BUT it wasn't until I saw & attended a free SheCodes coding class that I was convinced coding can be fun, AND can be my new career path! Having completed the SheCodes Basics Workshop, I can confidently say I didn't feel alone in the learning progress whatsoever; fellow classmates from around the world along with reliable tech assistants who offered help in any challenge, or homework I was stuck on. Also the teaching materials were clear to understand, which is why I highly recommend beginners with zero skills in coding to take the SheCodes Basics Workshop! I always thought that programming is something that is very hard to understand, but as soon as I started, I realized that actually, it is very interesting and creative! It was an incredible experience building my own weather app with the SheCodes team. This is a very well-structured and informative course consisting of step-by-step instructions from HTML basics to APIs and JavaScript functionality. I took a web development course over three years ago. Back then, the program was fast paced and I was juggling so much, that although the course was enjoyable, the curriculum and pacing may not have been optimal for my learning development. Currently, I am a manual software tester, but have always wanted to get back to learning how to code. SheCodes has given me the opportunity to learn at my own pace and retain the knowledge while having fun!

SheCodes Plus is an excellent addition to SheCodes Basics. It is a very useful workshop where you get to learn a bunch new stuff about JavaScript, APIs and hosting. Matt explains everything clearly and even though you might think building a weather app is challenging, it becomes fun and easy.

I've had so much fun working on this project! It has been a welcome creative output in between classes and exams. As always, the instruction videos are wonderful, but for this project I've found the lovely support team on Slack to be especially helpful. The team at SheCodes were also very approachable to get extensions etc. during exam season.

I absolutely loved every second of SheCodes! My journey with these courses began in July 2021, I'm sad that it's ending, but I have gained so much knowledge! When I visit a website now, if I see a feature I want to know more about, I just click "inspect" and know how to read all the code and what to look for! Before these courses, I never even knew about the inspect function on websites! I love thinking of ideas for new pages and immediately putting my skills to use! 10/10 would definitely recommend SheCodes!

This course made coding seem very easy and fun for a complete beginner. I also really loved the support I got when I had a question or needed help. I got the answers really quickly (sometimes within five minutes!). Everybody is very nice and helpful, so this felt like a safe environment to learn!

Never knew that I would be able to build a weather app by myself from scratch to a fully functional weather forecast. These 8 weeks lessons are not easy to be honest, especially week 8: lessons 5 and 6 have a lot of new and complex information. It was overwhelming but after watching the videos again and again with lots of practice, I MADE IT!
