She Codes workshop was a surprise from the moment I came across the Facebook post announcing the event. It took me out of my comfort zone and made me realize coding can be fun if the right people lead you to the proper mindset.It was the first time I learned HTML, CSS and Javascript.After this eye-opening experience I now feel capable of exploring by myself and I know I can count on the mentor's support. I want to thank Matt and all the team for this amazing workhop!

She Codes was an amazing start to coding. Fast-paced, but very rewarding, the weekend flew by as we shifted from HTML to Vanilla Javascript. By providing the tools and tips for further learning, networking, and optimism, the She Codes team and volunteers are truly an awesome bunch.
As someone with past experience coding HTML and CSS, I was pleasantly surprised to learn new element tags and properties. I also enjoyed learning JavaScript and getting an overview of all the career paths you can take and what programming languages you need to know in each one. This workshop is very intense, but there is also a great spirit of mutual help that you feel from everyone. It's an amazing initiative and I recommend all women to give it a try!
SheCodes helped me to enhance my knowledge and gave me a wider view of the tech industry. As a UX designer, it was really important to better understand how the web structure works in order to design more optimised interfaces. It was an amazing experience and I intend to keep growing my coding skills. I highly recommend the workshop for each and every girl who wants to feel empowered.

It was an amazing experience, although I already knew HTML and CSS. It helped me better structure the knowledge I already had and it was very interesting to learn Javascript, it’s actually a very powerful language. It gave me an overview over product development and design.

While searching on how to begin this journey, I bumped into the She Codes workshop and was an incredible surprise: how much you learn and the amount of information that you absorve in just 2 days with an amazing team of teachers. Taking part in SheCodes 9.0 was one of the best experiences of my stay in Lisbon. As a graphic designer, knowing a little bit more about coding really changed the deal for me. The workshop was amazing, all the ladies were great, and it really did inspire me to go the extra mile. Now I can really say that I can code and I love doing it!
Taking part of She Codes 7.0 was one of the best challenges of my life. I was always curious about coding but I was thinking it was a men field. It was lovely and refreshing to be in a room full of talented and amazing women! I didnt know anything about coding and I was able to understanding the basis and do a website. Matt was super patient and funny while doing the workshop which created a great atmosphere!
It was a very intense weekend, but it was definitely worth it! It was great to be able to apply all the knowledge we gathered that weekend and bring something to live through the final project. Nothing beats the joy of after all the trial error process, seeing our webpage come to live and looking amazing! 💪

I signed up for SHE CODES hoping to understand the basics of coding and maybe start my one website from scratch … but I left with much more. I learned how the internet works, some of the tools to do my own website, the 'where' to go to continue learning and improving my newest skills. Learned the basics of product management and to understand based on retrieved data what my clients want and what I can change. Not only was the workshop both inspiring and challenging but during the 3 days, I had the opportunity to network with 27 amazing women full of entrepreneurship ideas and dreams to make the difference. Matt and the rest of the team were great professors even talking about such complex themes. I would recommend this course to every woman I know that wants to understand more about coding.

SheCodes is an example of innovative workshop. Really bold to a specific public, in the perfect spot in Lisbon, an amazing team and teachers make huge difference on women that want to start into the programming world. The proposal is really appealing, you have a great package of information in the following days of course that gives you perspective to start your coding career or introduce you to the fields that you’re more willing to go through. The classes are giving by very experienced coders and designers, Matt knows perfectly how to talk in the beginners language and there are helpers in the back always ready to explain you anything you’d have doubt. It’s honestly a great opportunity for networking, in the coolest place in Lisbon, with diploma available, stickers, hang outs and excellent content. I hope this goes bigger and bigger as everyone can have the opportunity to take it. I have no words to thank you guys. Everything ran really smoothly.
SheCodes was great opportunity and my first entry point to the world of coding. The workshop gave us precious insights into the basics of html, css and java script. But SheCodes wasn’t only about pure coding, Matt and his team created a great concept to combine the three fields of programming, product design and product management and teach us the basics of each. I am so thankful for having been able to be part of She Codes 2.0! It was such a great experience and it was super interesting and excited to get a better insight into the world of coding. After having finished the She Codes workshop, I definitely want to keep working on my coding skills. I can only recommend this workshop to every woman who wants to learn about coding but is afraid of applying to a coding workshop because it might be too complex or out of this world. SheCodes course was amazing! The classes were very interesting, well prepared and covered a broad range of topics. It is an excellent start of your career in Tech. After finishing this course I feel more confident and informed about tech topics and interested in continuing my IT journey.
When i first applied, I immediately thought this program would be an excellent opportunity for me to learn more about coding and this project delivered it, I loved it and not only did I learn about the basics of the front end coding world and a little bit of back end but I made friends with women equally excited to learn code. My computing skills are still low but I’m thankful for this 4 weeks because it allowed me to set a strong basis for my future in html and css and it was all done by amazing and patient teachers. This programme made confirm that I really would like to pursue programming in the future.
HELLO WORLD : She Codes is brilliant! I have been a teacher for a long time but wanted to change my career to become a coder and this course gave me the perfect introduction and motivation I needed to start. The teachers are amazing at what they do, all very experienced and successful in their areas but most importantly they make the experience so much fun! I loved being a part of such a small and dedicated team, replete of inspiring women and actually looked forward to the early Saturday mornings, even on little sleep ;)) You will learn a lot but also make friends and share laughs. Lisbon just got a little bit better with SheCodes. : ))
