An amazing introduction into the world of coding. Lessons are set out in an extremely user friendly 3 part format - 'Learn' A video tutorial explaining how something works. 'Challenge' An opportunity to demonstrate what you have just learnt. 'Solution' Explanation of how to solve the challenge. The video tutorials are informative and perfectly timed to ensure that they aren't overwhelming for newbies. Just enough information is provided to allow students to have a clear set up whilst also providing a little extra challenge here and there. Completing the final project has left me really excited and ready to take on the 'SheCodes Plus' workshop next! Huge thank you to Matt and the SheCodes teams! :)
What an amazing 8 weeks of learning this has been for me! As someone with no prior knowledge of computer programming, SheCodes made it so easy to grasp concepts and implement them myself. I've been learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for about 3 months. I decided to study full-time and teach myself how to code because this is my dream career. I understand HTML, CSS, and a little bit of JavaScript. The problem that I was facing was how to connect all three. That's where SheCodes comes in. SheCodes has given me the confidence to continue my coding journey. After completing the beginners workshop I feel so much more confident and so happy that I was able to see my progress. This huge progress happened in literally two weeks. The first week was very intense because a lot of material was being covered but after the first week, I felt so confident and saw how much growth I had made in just one week. The satisfaction of seeing my three projects come to life was amazing. The final project was what really made me realize how much I truly enjoy coding and creating things.
I had so much fun in the basic course and excited to start SheCodes Plus and then Pro! The lessons were amazing and conveniently fit into my mommy/student schedule. I love that I learned a new, useful skill that will hopefully take my tiny business to the next level!

This workshop is amazing! Coding looked so complicated and felt so overwhelming when I tried to figure it out myself. This whole experience and teaching made me understand coding on a base level I never would have on my own, this experience gave me the opportunity to learn, experience and do it myself essentially with help. When I was a little girl, back in 2010, I would spend all my time creating blogs and using CSS and HTML to make my own designs, and give them away to others. I would learn from the very little information I found online and from looking through others' codes. I hadn't done any coding since then, and so I started to think if it could be a more serious thing now. I've been thinking about taking one of SheCodes workshops for AGES! I'm glad I did it, it definitely rekindled my passion. The basics workshop is amazing for someone who is trying to figure out if they want to go further with coding. The classes are very clear and the step-by-step process makes it feel so smooth and fun. The amazing community of women trying to help each other, not about competition but about growing together, is a great plus. Thank you so much, I'm pretty sure this is going to change the course of my life.
To learn to code was an amazing decision, to do it at SheCodes made the decision perfect. I love the way Matt presents the stuff. You get a lot of very well explained new information with each class but you don't get it completely chewed. Some things are easy to reproduce others not ,and you must go through trial and error until you get the right answer. This is for me the best way to learn something. I just finished the Basics level and cannot wait to continue this journey. As Matt promised, coding is really fun.
Amazing learning program for beginners!
When I started my personal blog, a few years ago, that's when I had my first contact with HTML. I found it absolutely amazing to be able to manipulate the elements as I wished. Even though I learned (proactively) very little at the time, it proved to be useful in my day-to-day work. So, I've always felt the desire to learn more coding. This workshop exceeded all my expectations! Matt is absolutely amazing and has a gift for captivating and reassuring anyone who is most fearful. I highly recommend this workshop and hope to have the opportunity to continue to learn and apply what I've learnt in my day-to-day!

SheCodes React was challenging but so rewarding. It was my fourth and final course and I am so happy that I discovered SheCodes half a year ago. I still can't believe how much I learned in such a short time and I am proud of what I achieved. At the same time, I am already sad that my SheCodes journey is now over - at least for now -, it feels a bit like leaving home. I will always feel connected to SheCodes and I hope that there will be more advanced courses in the future. I would definitely take them. Thanks a million to Matt for being such a skilled and wonderful teacher and for creating this amazing platform. I absolutely loved this class! I started out by attending the 1-hour free coding class from an Instagram ad, then ended up buying the basics class the following day and I have not looked back since! Matt does an amazing job explaining everything from the bottom up and does it where anyone can understand it. I was able to learn so much and have great resources that I had no problem with this final project. I had just a smidge of previous experience in coding from a semester in college (and those good ol' Myspace days!) and wanted to continue to learn more so that I can broaden my career opportunities in tech. If you're STILL hesitating to sign up, just DO IT, GIRL! Invest in yourself and your future, you will be thankful that you did.
Matt is an amazing teacher and the SheCodes team is incredible - they're patient and explain everything you might not understand or need to make your code function as it should. It has been a challenge, but also a wonderfully rewarding experience. In just a matter of a few weeks, I came from not having any idea about how an app would work to building one myself! REACT was challenging and difficult to achieve at first. What impressed me was its potential, how you could use it to extract data from different sources and display it. Loved every bit of it, no matter how many times I was staring at my screen thinking "Why is this not working?" just to realize that I have misplaced a ";" or other symbol, so yeah it is the little details that counts the most. Thankfully with all the support I got, I managed to get my projects up and running. Making mistakes was the best thing ever, for I realized that sometimes all you need to do is read your code and do some research, the answer is most of the time hidden in plain sight. If you have any second thoughts" don`t", it`s an amazing journey that might lead you to a different career path, or just have fun with coding. Looking forward for other workshops.
