I would HIGHLY recommend the SheCodes Basics course to anyone wanting to learn how to code! Matthieu has made the contents of the course so easy to follow and understand. I also found the SheCodes team extremely helpful and friendly! I thought I would have a lot of difficulty with this course as I come from a medical background, which is so different to coding in terms of content and style of learning, however I found the way Matthieu explained things, were very clear and most importantly, I found coding very interesting and fun! It's been challenging but rewarding. At first, it was very hard to understand all the concepts and I think it'll still take lots of time to get a hang of it, but the feeling that some things are more automatic and I know what to do - it's amazing. What an amazing adventure I have embarked on by joining this course! I never thought I could make it and now I am filled with pride because I have been able to develop my own weather app and I have also managed to add an extra feature to showcase that after this course, the sky is the limit. It was an amazing experience.
I programmed a Weather App to enable users search for their current location, the location they reside, and other locations. I also used a metric unit to enable users toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit degree, dependent on their location. It has been a mind blowing journey and it was really tasking, glad I got the result I needed. I loved learning HTML, CSS and JavaScript. π I'm excited to keep evolving and learning. It can be frustrating when something isn't working, but the sense of accomplishment and happiness that fills me after getting it to work is incredible. It's amazing to have Slack for when I'm stuck or have a question.
Thank you Matt for the lessons on React. It's definitely complicated, and coding can be super frustrating especially when the entire project isn't working because of a super tiny mistake. But! It feels amazing when I am able to find the problem and fix it. I can't wait to participate in the Add-ons and keep learning. Thank you to all the specialists on Slack too!

I never thought I can understand the language of HTML, CSS and JAVASCRIPT. It is amazing to be able to understand the concept of basic coding and being able to work on very cool mini projects that allows you to be hands on, able to make mistakes and learn from them but above all to have a teacher that created these videos. I am thankful I ran into this website and though you may not be into software programming, I think its great to simply try it out and understand what we use on a daily basis and appreciate all the work that goes into it. I had a lot of fun and considering to learn more. I am in my mid 30's and I am proud of myself. I did not think I can learn something new and it shows me that I am able to do more then I thought and building my own confidence.
