I've really enjoyed SheCodes Basic. The classes are easy to understand, you can manage how much time and effort you want to dedicate to go at your own pace, the resources are excellent, and the support from the community and the SheCodes team has been amazing. I wasn't sure that I could accomplish it, but I did it and I found a new love for coding in the process. I'm so excited to learn more!

I have got a Fashion Design degree, and I have always worked in Marketing & Sales. Thinking about coding, IT, and technology in general used to be so far from my reality... until a month ago. SheCodes made this transition so easy and smooth that now my curiosity about this world is growing into something bigger, which I want to pursue. Not to mention that being part of a community of amazing women is something inspiring on another level.

The structure of the course allows you learn at your own pace and is broken down into short manageable videos so it's easy to review. It really is amazing the things I've learned so far with the basics. This workshop gave me the foundations I needed to move to next level :) I enjoyed coding and learning more about CSS, HTML and JavaScript and had so much fun designing my first project.
I just finished the SheCodes Plus workshop and it was such a great experience. I learned so much from this course and I really love the way the lessons are laid out. They are clear and easy to follow and there is always support when you need it. I also love that there are weekly homework deadlines to try and meet, in order to help keep you accountable, but there is also a lot of flexibility if you need it (which, as a mom of a toddler, is essential!). The flexibility to be able to ask for extensions when you need them, to me, shows that SheCodes really takes into consideration the different lifestyles/schedules that each individual has. Before SheCodes, I had absolutely no knowledge of coding, but as soon I joined I felt very welcomed and instantly became a part of this community of amazing women around the world with shared dreams and ambitions of learning to code. Being a part of this supportive community, especially for a complete beginner like me, has given me a lot of confidence and inspiration to continue my coding journey.

The final project for this workshop was AMAZING! I felt more confident in my HTML, CSS and JS abilities and being able to connect everything with Github and launch the web app allowed me to understand how to build more applications on my own.

She codes could be difficult at times, when the code is not working, but, this is the ugly part, that it doesn't compare to how amazing it could be.

I have just completed my week 1-3 I have been enjoying SheCodes a lot. I have learnt so many amazing things in just my first few weeks. My experience with the SheCodes Workshops has been amazing! I love that we get to work on real world projects and build a portfolio. I have had so much fun coding the weather app and getting to be creative with the styling and the different tools we've learned.
Its amazing how i always felt coding was so complex and probably something i would not have much interest in. December 2022 i decided to challenge myself into doing something outside of my comfort zone from a career perspective in 2023! Amazing course! I thought that in the end, I'd be able to understand a basic HTML code when I saw it. However, I had no idea I would be able to create a webpage myself. Now that I know it's not magic, but hard work, I'm willing to learn much more.
My interest in coding began in late 2022, whilst I was in my third year of University. I realised that I had little passion for my major and wanted to find something new that would spark passion within me. I had thought about going back to university after I graduated to study an MBA or something in finance. But, 2022 was a year of exploration and self discovery for me, I had met a lot of friends within the tech industry, who suggested I look into coding and that coding was a great field for women. So, I did just that. I began my research and saw an overwhelming amount of different positions within the tech industry. Immediately, I was drawn to the idea of cybersecurity and began to do a course on that on freeCodeCamp but it was overwhelmingly difficult and frustrating. I gave up as quickly as I had began. Then, I return after I had written my final year exams and went back to my research, I looked for advice from the large online coding community and everyone had advised to start with web development, as it was the foundation of understanding coding and breaking into the industry. So, I started again, watching Youtube videos, following along with them as they began to code, and at first, it was overwhelming but it made a lot more sense this time since I was taking baby steps. I spent a month being self taught, assimilating the different markup languages, wanting to perfect them before I added Javascript to my roster. I went on Tiktok and found my community in 'Black women in Tech-tok', that's when I came across SheCodes for the first time. I always knew I was a learner that needed a roadmap with structure, so I knew I would thrive in an online school or course, so I knew SheCodes would be for me. I had a stable enough understanding of HTML and CSS and SheCodes helped me begin to understand the ropes of Javascript and I'm excited to learn more, know more and grow with SheCodes. This is only the beginning of my journey with our amazing instructor Matt and the SheCodes team.

Learning React is not easy but Matt's instructions were really clear and made it easy to understand the different concepts. I have completed all the previous SheCodes workshops and they have all been amazing. This one is no different, and I can only hope that more workshops are released in the future!
