I was scared to NOT understand all those symbols and words coding languages are consisting of, well, not anymore: 10 out of 10 times I would recommend to join SheCodes if your goal is to really learn and start coding by yourself! The workshops are easy to understand and follow, the slack crowd is the most supportive. I am shocked and proud of myself :)
10/10 would recommend - I always thought of myself as a person who was simply bad at tech and anything to do with computers really. Turns out coding can be a lot of fun, especially for creative minds like myself. :)
This was such a great course! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a refresher, or even someone just beginning. I hadn't taken a coding class in years. It was challenging but so worth it. I still feel like I could learn even more. The way Matt teaches is great. It took me a little longer because I really wanted to understand what I was doing. I had so much fun with the final assignment, and the rest of the workshop was great as well. I knew some HTML and CSS from before, but it was nice to be able to have it make more sense than it did before. A very good entroduction to the world of programming!

The SheCodes React workshop is extremely well structured and I felt it was a great stepping stone to learning how to build scalable apps. As always, Matt gives very clear explanations of different concepts and the accompanying mini challenges and final project help to solidify what you learn through practical application. I have always been interested in learning to code, however I never thought it was something I could do because I don't have a masters in computer science. Taking the SheCodes course has helped me learn and understand the basics of coding. I was scrolling through Instagram one day, and came across SheCodes 1 hour intro to coding, as soon as I finished the free intro I signed up for the basics course just to see if I would like it. Half way through the basics course, I decided I wanted to learn more, so I signed up for the plus course. It's really nice having the SheCodes slack community to help when you get stuck, or frustrated. It also helped keep me motivated. I love that there are deadlines, and homework, because it helps me set a schedule for myself. Rather than it being at your own pace, because then I'd never get around to actually doing it.
Just a few short weeks ago, the thought of having to code an entire webpage seemed incredibly daunting. Thanks to Matt and the SheCodes team, I see now that it is completely possible! The lesson videos are very comprehensible, and the challenges and homework assignments helped keep me on track throughout the course. I have learned so much in the past few weeks, and am becoming more confident in my coding abilities. I am already looking forward to beginning the next course!

I found this platform extremely exciting! I have to say that these past 3 weeks were really fun and I learnt a lot. What surprised me the most is that the course was not only really easy to understand but the exercises were really practical (and it had solution to it which made it even more awesome). This course was perfect that even a mom with a newborn could handle and an incredible introduction to JavaScript and API that I genuinely enjoyed! I'm currently on maternity leave and wanted to do something for myself during my time away from work while my son napped during the day. This course opened my eyes to the world of coding. As a Product Manager, I cannot recommend more than for all PMs to take SheCodes to better understand what our engineers do on a day-to-day basis for better collaboration and product development. I was always interested in coding, but I never found a good place to learn it. Until I discovered SheCodes! I enjoyed my workshop and will do some more in the future. I've loved developing this responsive website from scratch with Matt. I've learnt more about SEO than I thought I ever would, discovered how much easier Bootstrap can make my life and I'm happy with the website I've learned to create. Can't wait to learn React next!
Absolutely brilliant! I never thought I'd be able to get into coding especially since I hadn't taken ICT or Cumputer Science at school, however this site provides the tools and knowledge to get started even if you're a complete beginner. SheCodes Basic really helped me gain a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Before taking the course I had no prior knowledge of coding or computer science. Matt really helped to breakdown each lesson within the language and made it easy to understand for beginners! I would highly recommend and hope to continue my SheCodes education myself!
Wow, I can't believe how quickly those 8 weeks went by! After finishing the SheCodes Basics Workshop last December I was really excited to start this new project and learn more about coding and Javascript. Not gonna lie, at times it was quite difficult to understand and I struggled to follow. But this is what I really enjoy about this course and the concept: you can do everything at your own pace - if you don't understand it you can just re-watch all the videos, you can do it step by step and you can ask for help. I am really proud of what I have learned already in this short time and I am so excited to continue this journey :)

Learning React was a journey, not always easy but very satisfying once things started working. I really enjoyed learning through SheCodes. I love the way the classes are laid out. It was nice to have short videos, fun projects to do, and after you submit your projects, the solutions are provided. It really helped me learn a lot and I'm really excited to move on to the advanced classes!
As a project manager who works with developers on a daily basis, I signed up to this course hoping to learn some basics of coding to expand my knowledge. I was not disappointed. I was very impressed with the quality and detail of the course, but also the way it was delivered was very clear. It ensured the student wasn't just watching a YouTube video, but actually put into practice the lessons learned. The timing of the work was perfect for me, five hours per week is doable for someone with a full time job (or someone who is a new mother). It allowed me to focus on lessons, complete my assignments and absorb the learning properly.
This course was the perfect mix of challenging and accessible. There were weeks where I didn't know if I would persevere, but the lessons and other available resources did an excellent job of tying everything together. After completing the Basic and Plus programs, I am sad it's over and strongly considering registering for other workshops!

Best decision ever! I joined SheCodes after taking their free workshop that was advertised on Instagram. That workshop was very inspiring and I'm glad I chose to enroll. Matt is a great teacher and the staff here make sure that you know they are available to help anytime. I learned a lot in the 3-week Basics course and I'm even thinking about upgrading. I'm very grateful to have stumbled upon this opportunity.
I'm so happy I decided to venture into the world of coding with SheCodes. It's just the beginning and I can say that it hasn't been easy for me since I've never been tech-savvy. Completing the first workshop has been a struggle, but one that my brain and I welcome. It's very rewarding when I'm actually able to figure things out, and do things I'd never thought I'd be capable of understanding, much less doing.

This is my third workshop with SheCodes, and I'll definitely be coming back to learn React! There's just enough information in these courses to teach you the foundational knowledge you need to become a developer without holding your hand every step of the way. I was a little nervous to start something new that I had no idea about. Throughout my SheCodes journey, I have gained an abundance of knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I've learned to incorporate fontawesome and bootstrap and can successfully design responsive and SEO-friendly websites. This basics course was an excellent beginning to coding! I honestly learned so much and am still excited to learn more. The courses are short and sweet. I really enjoyed learning the process a small step at a time. I'm an illustrator (now seeking a career as a front-end developer) and this was entirely new knowledge to me, but from the way that these lessons were taught, I learned the coding basics pretty quickly. Excited for the next course!

This workshop is definitely much more challenging than SheCodes Basics but this also makes it more rewarding. You dive much deeper into JavaScript and learn about API & GitHub - integral parts of Front-End Development. With each workshop, I am getting more and more interested in Web Development, so I am looking forward to learning more in SheCodes Responsive!
