I've wanted to learn how to code for years, and joining the SheCodes free Coding Class was that final push that inspired me to try it! I signed up for the Basics Workshop immediately, and I've had so much fun learning something new and challenging myself. I'm so glad I did this!

This is the best courses I've ever attended! The information divided into tiny pieces is absorbed so quickly and effectively. SheCodes makes everything clear and easy to learn. They throw in some challenges that require critical thinking and sometimes checking with classmates on the SlackChat groups but overall, if you listen and take notes during the lectures, the assignments are very straight forward. I also love that once you submit your work you are given an explanation for the solution and a chance to fix your code and resubmit!
I have tried other courses in the past and this is the first one I feel really shows what coding is about and is using real life tools to set me up for success!
Personally, I thought SheCodes Basics was great. It was a very interactive introductory course to HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I did use Codecademy prior to starting the workshop, but I didn't feel motivated enough to finish the courses I signed up for. Unlike Codecademy, I was able to finish the workshop quite quickly, finishing it in less than a week. I recommend it for people who just want to know the very basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and make simple webpages.

Good to start
Before the basic course, I could only vaguely recall the principles of HTML, CSS, and javascript. But, thanks to a clear, structural, practice-oriented video, useful and actual additional material, and skill-developing practice tasks, now I have a strong fundamental knowledge of the front-end.

Was a good class
If you have an interest in learning how to code, the SheCodes Basics workshop is a great way to figure out if coding really is for you. Each video and challenge is well explained, and the SheCodes community on Slacks is a good backup for when you're stuck. Matt challenges you by giving you factors on a web page where you need to figure out the code yourself, while teaching you how to google your issues and communicating them through Slacks. All in all, the work shop is the perfect course where you won't commit to a big and more expensive package, but still getting to know the basics and explore your interest more.

Very understandable explanations and a lot of practice, step-by-step integration of real time and weather data. Being not bound by time that much is also useful for busy people! I really enjoyed these weeks and look forward to continue my way in programming!

It's easy to follow and Matt provides challenging exercises every week. You learn the very basics with this course in an easy and intuitive way. You also have the chat in Slack which I found very helpful when I'm unsure about something in my code.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to gain knowledge and get acquainted with a new specialty. At first it was very scary that I could not cope. And then I got involved and the excitement appeared. Interesting and very accessible. For those who have never tried this area - a great opportunity to try yourself in it.

In general, the course is not bad, although it gives you the basics and then you need to move on to other courses. It explains quite well, but sometimes due to the fact that the task in the challenge changes from lesson to lesson, you have to sit over the code for a long time and think about where is my id or what to delete.
Signing up for SheCodes was hands-down the best decision I have ever made! I had wanted to attend a coding workshop for years but was worried I would be over my head. The one-hour free introduction course provided sold me on signing up, and I had an absolute blast completing all the challenges. I looked forward to learning, and look forward to attending another workshop in the near future. Thank you Matt and the SheCodes team!
It was a lot of work - but it was a great experience to build a responsive website from scratch. Really loved the videos and the result of my project!
