As someone who never touched javascript before, it was a definite eye-opener of an experience of how simple making an interactable page is~ It's amazing how easy it is to get help when you're working on the different challenges each week. Love the simplicity of each course and can't wait to dive into the next workshop!
This class was difficult being new to coding but it was also fun and rewarding once you understand where you went wrong. There are many people on the Slack chats that help you through the courses. Thanks so much.
SheCodes has been an incredible experience! I am mostly bedridden and have very limited mental energy due to ME/CFS, but Matt's lessons are simple and enjoyable. Plus the program was very flexible with extensions when I was in health flares. It felt sooo good to actually learn a new skill and feel productive again! I missed that feeling! Also, I love knowing that if my health improves enough to actually stay awake during the day, I now have very desirable skills for a job that I could even do in bed! Thanks SheCodes!
This workshop was definitely challenging at times especially with a full time job however everything was explained very well and any time I needed help I pretty much got an instant response. I'm very happy I found SheCodes.
This intro workshop was challenging and fun! The over-the-shoulder format of the lesson videos is super helpful, and the homework and final project really help to solidify everything I've learned so far.
Learning by practicing is the most amazing thing ever, and SheCodes has that and I loved it.
After trying for months to teach myself just one coding language, I knew I had to rethink my approach. I signed up for SheCodes, and it wasn't at all what I expected - it's better. The workshop was educational, reflective and fun. The challenges that were designed in almost every lesson encouraged me to be creative. It's the learning-by-doing approach that I like! It provided me with new set of tools for starting designing my own website. Taking a coding class with Matt was definitely a great experience. I feel like I have strong foundation to start coding, and of course will not stop me to keep learning and progressing. At a crossroad in my life, where I was desperate to find something relevant, that also stands for women empowerment and that I could dig my creative claws into - I couldnβt have found ShCodes at a better time. I donβt think Iβve done something so frustrating, but as highly rewarding recently than learning the basics of coding. Having Matt to talk through things with, and make lights of stressful situations was what got me though in the end and I canβt wait to keep practising to eventually become a front end developer, and learn other languages to potentially go further. The world of code seems limitless, with opportunity to enter any industry. My ultimate goal is to be able to build and host my own website from scratch, that will encourage collaboration and interaction. This course has given me the base to build towards that, in terms of the community and the learning material. Thank you SheCodes, I may be back to complete the rest of the packages!π«
