I would highly recommend, SheCodes. As a UX Designer trying to break out into development, this is a great way to learn. Matt and the whole team have been super helpful with any questions. The SheCodes Basics Workshops were overall a great experience for me as they gave me both the great foundation of learning HTML, JavaScript, and CSS that was fun to learn and easy to follow (Matt is a great instructor!) and getting more excited and interested in the world of coding! I've thoroughly enjoyed the Basics add-on course. I completed the Basics course last year and this add-on was great to refresh my memory of the basics as well as learn some new tips and tricks!
I am thankful for Matt and the SheCodes Team to help me proceed in my journey. This project was challenging and so much fun, creating my very first 'World Clock'.
It was a fun learning experience, I think Matt is an excellent instructor.Clear, concise and to the point no confusion at all.
I had problems in first weeks but I learned after try hard and thanks to Matt how teach very good with lots of examples in each parts so I really enjoy the classes.
Building a project step by step along with Matt has been great, I'm really proud of my work! However, two main challenges I had with SheCodesPlus: 1. The JavaScript concepts are oftentimes not thoroughly explained, it remains for the most part quite superficial, you WILL need to dig deeper on your own. I personnally studied with a bunch of Youtube videos and a Codecademy course in parallell. 2. Towards the end of the project, everything revolving around API needs to be updated. In Matt's video, he uses an older API than the one you're supposed to use. So it's quite tricky to follow his steps and understand everything. The Slack chat can be really helpful in this moment, which is very nice. All in all I'm happy with my work, happy with my progress, and the support on Slack is great. But I remain slightly disappointed by the video courses which left a lot of questions unanswered. That's the beauty of code, you might say. The learning never stop!
I am really grateful for creating this valuable course. The teaching method is very smooth and understandable. The remarkable thing is the simultaneous teaching of three subjects (html, css and java script) together, which helped me to progress faster and improve my skills.
I enjoyed so much this workshop from day one. Matt's lessons are so well explained, that every challenge was so entertaining to make and woke up my curiosity to learn. This first journey has been fun and I feel excited to continue with SheCodes Plus. I highly recommend it!

I thoroughly enjoyed this class! Coding always seemed daunting to learn, but this workshop provided clear instructions and visual guidance that made the process much easier. I'm also grateful that SheCodes is flexible and allows for extensions without judgement.

I must say that this course has been my favorite, completing the project in a responsive and SEO-friendly way has been a challenge but at the same time it has been satisfying. At the end of each lesson, delivery of the challenge and review of the solution, I wanted to continue to the next lesson because, in each of these steps, Matt taught us information that I did not know and tips that in my case allowed me to understand much better how to improve the User interaction with the websites. I look forward to the next course.
I believe that coding is so important to learn these days because it teaches you necessary skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and creativity. Coding is also a skill that is valued in the workforce. I strongly recommend learning how to code through "SheCodes" as it is simple, well-organized and most importantly fun. Happy coding :)
Great course and easy to follow videos!
The SheCodes basic workshop taught me a lot! If I have the money, I'd probably enroll in their other classes as well. I love how they provided this kind of aid for women in third-world countries. Each lesson is very easy to understand and you get to have a guide as you test the knowledge you've received.

After talking with some other individuals in tech, and how they learned coding basics, I was SO HAPPY with choosing SheCodes. The small lessons and weekly homework keep me engaged and I love that we repeat concepts over and over in different ways so it really sticks.

Truthfully, I never thought I would one day learn how to code, let alone learn how to work with multiple languages synchronized together. I am immensely proud of myself for achieving this feat and grateful for Matt and the SheCodes team for every bit of help and support they provided. A great introductory course into the basics of web development. I liked the pace and the content I was able to learn in 3 weeks.

I absolutely loved this course! The pace was perfect for me because some weeks flew by while others I found more challenging. I have used the things learned in this course to start other projects too. I've finished my weather app and I'm really proud of it!

SheCodes Basic Plus is a great addition to the previous workshops. I loved learning more in details the CSS grids, filters, and backgrounds. I was also pleasant to applied my knowledges in JS for the dark theme mode.
It's been a great experience making my own portfolio website with SheCodes Responsive Workshop. I really like the way Matt explains on how a developer find solutions to the challenges that comes while developing a website from his own industry experience. In this workshop I worked on responsive design making using media queries, Bootstrap, CSS best techniques and Figma tool for designing. Feeling proud after developing my responsive portfolio website and super pumped up to create more projects with responsive design.

I loved continuing my learning journey with the Responsive workshop. Responsive is not an easy topic, but I feel like I now understand the basics of it and I'm ready to dive even deeper. The final project is a portfolio, which was a lot of fun to build and is going to be very helpful in my professional future.

I came to SheCodes to learn the basics of coding, I am curious to understand more about software development and so far I've found it very interesting the way SheCodes is built by creating a community, setting homework with set deadlines and simplified lessons.
This workshop is beginner friendly. The instructor takes you through all the concepts and is very easy to understand. I enjoyed completing the challenges as they were both challenging but also fascinating.

I love the accountability which the weekly program offers, this means that I was more likely to stay committed. Another factor I enjoy is the fact you can easily revisit and rewatch videos, the support from Slack is super helpful and accessible. Matt teaches in a clear and playful way which makes the sessions enjoyable. I enjoy the focus on playing around with colour and design.
