I’ve always been interested in coding, but I never thought I was good enough to pursue it as a career. That all changed after I took the free introductory class and it completely shifted my perspective and gave me the confidence to try. I started my coding journey with SheCodes Basics, learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript from scratch. Now I'm currently working through the SheCodes Add-On, building on everything I've already learnt and diving even deeper. The progression between the two courses feels natural and well thought out. I have always wanted to learn how to code but lacked the push to really dive into learning. Most platforms I came across for self-learning had many complex lessons and no guidance for beginners. However, that changed when I came across SheCodes. SheCodes made learning code easier through its self-paced and curated curriculum that suited my schedule. The videos were easy to follow and Matt's teaching made everything click and stick. It is not only fun, but I'm finally learning how to code!

A few weeks ago I didn't know how to connect to an API. Now I've built three live apps - a weather dashboard, an AI poem generator, and a world clock. All deployed and working on the internet. The SheCodes AI Add-on taught me more than syntax. It taught me how to think through problems, debug when things break, and build things that actually work. What I'm most proud of? These aren't just tutorial projects anymore, I customized the designs, chose the features, and made them mine. Ready to build my own portfolio now!

I really enjoyed this workshop. It was a great introduction to the basics and I had a lot of fun doing it. It's so satisfying when you're able to make it work. I like that is broken down into little modules with short videos and a chance to try it out yourself. It was easy to manage with my full-time job.
SheCodes Basics was the perfect introduction to coding. The classes were fast and easy to follow, with a curriculum that breaks down complex ideas into manageable steps. The learning tools are incredibly user-friendly and helped me understand my mistakes in real-time. If you want to learn a lot without the stress, this is the place to do it!
I had some problems at the beginning as Replit changed its UI. Because of these issues, I ran out of credits for the free access and I decided to sign op to be able to continue the Python course. Unfortunately, only hours after I signed to Replit the SheCodes Python course was changed to working with Google Colab. Nevertheless, Human support at SheCodes was really good and working with Google Colab is easier than with Replit.

Great extension to the basics course, shows how to integrate an AI API into your code. Matt is a great teacher, the course structure is also really good as most lessons are followed by challenges, making you put what you have learned into practice.
SheCodes makes learning fun and easy with step by step instructions that allowed me to work at my own pace while still in school full time.
I think this is the only course that could’ve got me coding. A steep learning curve, starting from a position of knowing nothing about it and being a bit trepidatious to really ‘getting it’ and loving it 🤩

A few weeks ago I didn't know how to connect to an API or make things work together. Now I've built two full projects from scratch. The course pushed me to actually understand what I was building, not just copy code. There were frustrating moments when things broke, but I slowly rebuild them. What I love most is that these aren't just course projects anymore, they're mine! I customized everything and seeing them work end-to-end is unmatched. Ready to build on my own now!

Matt’s tutorials were incredibly helpful and made learning feel approachable and manageable, especially as a beginner like myself. This AI chapter was very interesting and fun to learn. I learned how to use an API to generate content from user input. At first it was a bit challenging, especially fixing errors, but I improved with practice. Building the AI Poem Generator helped me understand how AI works in real projects. I also learned the importance of user experience. Overall, it was a great learning experience.

Challenging but very productive, worth the time invested
This one was tougher! It definitely challenged me, but I loved every minute of it. Also, using React and breaking the code into components really made JavaScript make more sense. This is the point where I had given up the first time I tried SheCodes 4 years ago. I'm so glad I came back to it and pushed through. I really think I can start trying to turn this into a career!

Coding is really fun! I loved the basic workshop. Although sometimes it took me a while to understand and practice, watching the lessons and doing the homework was always a great and interesting challenge.

Starting my journey with SheCodes has been both exciting and challenging. Learning a completely new skill, especially coding, pushed me out of my comfort zone, but it has also been incredibly rewarding. Balancing my studies and other responsibilities hasn’t been easy, and there were times I felt overwhelmed and fully occupied. However, staying consistent and practicing regularly has helped me grow more confident in my abilities. This experience has shown me that learning something new takes patience and dedication, but the progress I’ve made so far makes it all worth it.

I started SheCodes not knowing much about coding,but now i’m proud to be receiving my certificate.The experience was empowering,and I’ve learned skills I can actually use.This is just the beginning of my journey in tech.
The "World Clock" build is a lot easier (in my opinion) than the "Weather App" build. Overall, it is nice gaining new knowledge for every day useful applications and being on the other side of understanding how both applications are working from the inside-out.

Learning Responsive was super challenging, but it was very fun to marry the skills I've learned for HTML and CSS with the functionality of Bootstrap. Very cool final project!
My journey with SheCodes started off amazing, learning code was fun and exciting up until it started to clash with my university studies. Test week at school approached and I had to put SheCodes on pause. But I ended up being too drained from school that I missed my deadline for some of my homeworks, including my final project. Luckily, extensions are allowed and it was given to me as an option. Instead of dropping out, I opted for an extension that bought me more time to finish my project. Next time, I'll try to start another workshop or add-on workshop once I've clearly set up my schooling schedule to prevent any clashes from occurring.
Completing this chapter was both challenging and rewarding. I improved my weather app by adding real-time API data, including wind speed, weather description, icons, and humidity. I also learned how to make my application fully dynamic, removing hardcoded values and ensuring everything updates based on user input. Debugging and improving the user experience helped me better understand how JavaScript, APIs, and HTML work together. Deploying my project on Netlify and updating my GitHub repository gave me more confidence in sharing my work and building real-world projects. This chapter helped me grow not only in coding but also in problem-solving and attention to detail.

I'm so excited to finally see my finished weather app live on the internet! It's been challenging. There were moments where I had no idea why things weren't working but pushing through it made it so worth it. Everything I learned throughout the course came together in this project. From structuring the page, to styling it, to connecting a real API and displaying live weather data. I built something real, and that feeling is unmatched. 100% worth every frustrating moment!

After first learning Java, It took some time to know how to code in Python. Luckily Matt is really great in explaining the differences and also the naming of what things are called in Python vs Java.
