Back to SheCodes after a long break and I must say their workshops never disappoint! I was worried that I will struggle going into Responsive after such a long break, but I realised after the first few lessons that my worries were unfounded. The Responsive workshop was divided into short but impactful lessons, which made learning quite a breeze for me. I also appreciated the ease of extending deadlines when I was unable to hand in a homework on time due to a work travel commitment. Excited to start on my React workshop soon! Overall will recommend to anyone keen into entering the world of coding. ππΌ

This weather application was built using React, and I enjoyed this workshop. I learned the basics of React and the value of components, which make my code more efficient and easier to manage using the single responsibility principle. I learned how to import and include components within each other, sending data (props) between them. I practiced extensively with passing properties between components to display data. I learned how to manage multiple files and worked with API integrations, effectively reading their response. I integrated two APIs in this project: one for the current weather and the second for the forecast. I practiced looping through arrays and focused on improving functions. Additionally, I learned how to read React error messages and make the necessary adjustments to debug my code.

I learned about the opportunity to study web development through a special aid program offered by the Delac Foundation via the KuΓ±aTech Instagram account, a Paraguayan organization where my compatriots aim to provide development opportunities for women in the tech field. I eagerly shared this great opportunity with other women, friends, and university classmates whom I deeply care for. Through scholarships, I am fortunate enough to have knowledge of English, which encouraged me to apply. Despite the demanding nature of my university studies, I managed to complete this first course with valuable knowledge in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, which also helped me in a university subject, Software Engineering II. SheCodes classes are excellent; the videos are not too long, and the instructor explains very well. He explains concepts that can be complex in a very simple way, making them easier to understand. Additionally, his English is very clear, making it easy to follow his explanations. The deadline extensions were also a big help, as some weeks are busier than others, which sometimes made it difficult for me to focus on the course. On the other hand, I absolutely loved how everything is personalized for women, and the gender focus provided for the course has been a great source of motivation for me. Everything looks pretty and aesthetically pleasing. Another aspect I really enjoyed was learning by creating parts of a project and finishing the course by building my own project. The community is wonderful, and the tools SheCodes provides to its students are incredibly useful. I am very, very, very grateful for this amazing opportunity, and I am excited for the upcoming workshops β€οΈπ

This short Ad-On course sharpened up the knowledge gained in SheCodes Plus. Some elements of JS are very hard but great to see how the project can be built without the utilization of API, and the introduction to Moments JS is great and powerful for future project development. As always, an amazing and well-structured course that elevates knowledge to the next level one step at a time.

Great insight into using JS and APIs
Iβm thrilled with how my weather application has turned out! After diving into web development, I managed to successfully integrate all the critical features: a responsive search engine, real-time API integration, accurate temperature, wind speed, weather description, humidity, and dynamic weather icons that update based on the current conditions. I learned a lot through the process, especially in working with APIs and managing error handling, which ensured a seamless user experience. Iβm proud that the application is not only functional but also polished with a clean interface, responsive design, and great usability across devices. This project has shown me the value of consistent effort and creative problem-solving in building real-world applications. Weeks 1 to 3 of this workshop were great - we learnt a lot and there were many useful hints and techniques to save us time and make our projects look more attractive. However, weeks 4 and 5 were disappointing - none of the information was new, and the hours of videos were basically just watching Matt code an example project using techniques we had already been taught. I feel like this workshop could be cut to three or four weeks; by that point students should be well prepared to work autonomously (referring back to past videos if needed). I didn't want to skip any of the videos in the later weeks in case there was important new information, but it was just consolidation and repetition. Building a portfolio for our project was really useful, and it's great how things are broken down step by step, but each video could have just been way shorter. I'm still really looking forward to moving onto other SheCodes workshops, and I'm sure the content is going to get more challenging again.

I really enjoyed the She Codes Python basics course. All really clearly explained - Having studied HTML, CSS and Javascript with She Codes earlier in the course, completing this course in Python has helped consolidate my understanding of some of the core elements of programming, and been a great introduction to a new programming language.

It was good but for the short one week deadline dates especially for Week1 content, over 22 Chapters.
Learning about AI integration & prompt engineering is something I didn't have expected in a frontend workshop. It was really fun & exciting trying to play around with the AI API & it definitely exposed me to the world of AI.
As I was inside a programming degree in the past, SheCodes helped me get back to all the concepts and rules that I had forgotten since then. With this course, I am now able to continue pursuing my path on the development side and also, help my developer colleagues when delivering my designs to them.
