I have found the initial phase of my coding experience with the SheCoding Foundation for Women to be both extremely rewarding and challenging. I was forced to step outside of my comfort zone, but the experience also gave me useful skills and increased my confidence in my ability to code. I'm happy to have accomplished this goal and am looking forward to getting my certificate for finishing the foundational coding course. This experience has motivated me to keep learning and developing in the computer industry, and I am appreciative of the SheCoding Foundation for giving women in coding such a positive environment.

This was a tough year for me. I had a serious injury and struggled to find employment. Although I finished my MFA in Creative Writing, despite my injury, I couldn't find a job that would pay me a living wage. I started thinking that I needed to do something else. I did not expect to enjoy coding as much as I do. I thought it was going to be this job that I could learn and slog through. After three weeks, I am a bit obsessed. Don't get me wrong, it is a challenge. Sometimes I stare at a bit of code for 20 minutes and say "why won't you work?" But when I solve that puzzle, refresh the page, and everything works like it's supposed to, it gives me such a feeling of accomplishment. I was a little nervous because I am not a maths person, and I can barely draw a stick figure, but it turns out that a little imagination goes a long way. There were a lot of course options I could have chosen from. I went with SheCodes because I saw that I would get trained in a lot of different programming languages. It also was flexible and I was able to start right away. I'm signed up for the Plus, but I'm already planning on upgrading to the bootcamp when I'm done.
I've gained so much from the She Codes program! Before starting, I lacked confidence in coding with JavaScript, but now Iβm amazed at how far Iβve come. I can create some really cool functionalities, all thanks to She Codes. Matt has a fantastic way of making learning both easy and enjoyable, and I love how he incorporates plenty of challenges to keep things engaging. A huge thank you to She Codes and their incredible team! Itβs become one of my favorite learning platforms, and Iβd highly recommend it to anyone interested in coding.

The Delac Foundation Program has taught me so much, it was amazing getting to learn and practice new skills hands-on all at the same time. I really enjoyed participating in the real-life challenges the SheCode's team set up as will as the little projects I had to complete. Learning how to code as a beginner has been an incredible journey for me, it has transformed the way I approach problem-solving and creativity. At first, it seemed like a daunting challenge, but each step I took, no matter how small, was a rewarding experience. From understanding basic syntax to building my first functional simple app, Iβve gained so much more than just coding skills. The process taught me patience, persistence, and the importance of breaking down complex problems into manageable parts. The sense of accomplishment I felt after solving my first bug and coding a working simple App was priceless, and it motivated me to keep pushing forward.
It is getting harder and harder, so there's a lot of work behind. I feel very excited about the learning process and can't wait for the becoming content to challenge me all the way.

I definitely recommend this workshop, if the coding career - like in my case, has been calling you.
