“Where lies my heart you might ask? That's simple: growth. Every time I look back, I would like to see a difference. The skills I acquired yesterday must have increased by the next month or two or at least improved. I am not afraid of challenges and neither am I afraid of not knowing. The eagerness to learn stems from the confidence of being able to say out loud "I don't know." So, I don't know what I don't know but I would like to know that which I don't know... Something that echoes in my mind a lot said by @Zakhele Mofolo in one of the conversations we have had is : " It's easy to apply for certificates, but getting yourself to finish them is another task on it's own." With these words embedded in my mind, I refuse to start a race and not finish it. I would rather come out last knowing I finished what I started. I refuse to be a quitter because quitting is easy. I want to keep going because an obstacle passed is always an inspirational and motivational story to the next person. Comparing now to then, I have learnt a lot and I could not be more grateful to be seen as one of the SheCodes students. SheCodes definitely shaped me in becoming, presently I can confidently say I am a front-end developer. The road from here continues because learning never ceases. If you keep going, what do you have to lose?”

“Learning is one thing but replicating or creating something from scratch with comprehension is another thing. Coding requires logic and continuing the journey requires persistence. Coding is challenging, and requires time, effort, and trial and error. Passion is not necessary but it can help. So why do I love coding or continue to find myself doing this? I believe its because I can bring an idea to life by words. We do not hear this a lot but coding and creativity sounds like two different worlds which in fact work well together. Advanced CSS and JS was a beast together with codesandbox, but I was an even greater beast! I fought, I almost quit, but kept on fighting and here I am. Someone previously commented "Be encouraged and keep at it!", a special thank you to them, due to the particular comment amongst many other things I kept fighting. Moreover, I cannot get enough of the lessons, I just want to keep doing them. I like to say "There is so much to learn and see," I love learning and SheCodes Plus definitely had a lot of learning. I cannot wait for the next phase, I cannot help but wonder what other interesting things are there for me. “I knew languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript existed and I had seen them before but would not be able to replicate work or produce anything of my own from scratch. It has been a very interesting journey: learning the different functions of these three tools and learning how to create my own works from scratch. It's definitely how they structured the work that makes it easy to learn, understand, practice and remember the work. I am so happy with the challenges I was given, they are not called challenges for decoration they were actually challenging. I have a low attention span, but for me I found that the way they divided the videos into different sub-topics did the trick in getting me to concentrate. If this was basics, I sure am nervous about the next program but supper excited as well. If you are interested in coding, don't let such an opportunity pass you! finally, just from this program, I have learnt that I love coding and would not mind doing it for the rest of my life.”
