Our Yazd Heritage
As a proud native of Yazd, my family and I frequently return to this enchanting city, deeply connected to our roots. Our ancestral home in Mehriz, a historic town within Yazd Province, has been lovingly restored to its original grandeur. Built over 200 years ago, this house stands as a testament to our enduring bond with Yazd's rich cultural legacy.
Yazd: A UNESCO Gem of Persia
Yazd, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities. Nestled in the heart of Iran's central desert, it is celebrated for its unique adobe architecture, labyrinthine alleys, and iconic badgirs (windcatchers)—ancient cooling systems that showcase Persian ingenuity. The city is a living museum of Zoroastrian heritage, home to the sacred Fire Temple, where a flame has burned for over 1,500 years, and the Tower of Silence, a solemn reminder of ancient rituals.
Yazd's thriving bazaars brim with craftsmanship, from handwoven silk textiles to intricate pottery and qanat-made sweets like baghlava and pashmak. The city's resilience in the harsh desert climate is mirrored in its people, whose warmth and hospitality leave a lasting impression.
