My weekend in Tallin - why I reccomend it!

I wholeheartedly recommend Tallinn for your next adventure. This charming Estonian capital effortlessly blends convenience with captivating history; its easily walkable Old Town maintains an authentic medieval charm that transports you back in time. Beyond its historic core, you'll find a city that is remarkably clean, offering delicious food and local beer that will delight your palate. Tallinn also feels incredibly safe and quiet at night, allowing for peaceful strolls. Plus, the unique ability to take a leisurely walk near the Baltic Sea and through a small forest means you're always in touch with nature, even within the city limits.
Explore Tallinn's Sightseeing Gems

Aleksandr Nevsky Cathedral
Dominating Toompea Hill, the majestic Aleksandr Nevsky Cathedral is Tallinn's largest and most opulent onion-domed Orthodox church. Built in a typical Russian Revival style in the late 19th century, its striking architecture and elaborate interiors, adorned with mosaics and icons, stand as a powerful reminder of Estonia's historical ties to the Russian Empire. It remains an active place of worship and a prominent landmark offering panoramic views of the Old Town.

Town Hall Square
At the heart of Tallinn's enchanting Old Town lies Raekoja plats, or Town Hall Square, a bustling hub of medieval history and vibrant activity. Surrounded by meticulously preserved merchant houses, the square is dominated by the Gothic Town Hall, a beacon since the 13th century. This lively plaza has hosted markets, festivals, and public gatherings for centuries, offering a perfect spot to soak in the atmosphere, enjoy outdoor cafes, and admire the historic architecture.

Bastion Hill
Perched on the city walls, Bastion Hill offers a fascinating glimpse into Tallinn's defensive past. Dominated by the imposing Kiek in de Kök cannon tower, the area is renowned for its hidden bastion passages, a network of underground tunnels built in the 17th century. Exploring these secret passages provides a unique historical adventure, while the park above offers peaceful green spaces and superb viewpoints over the Old Town rooftops and the Baltic Sea.
Restaurant & Cafe I Reccomend!

Olde Hansa
Olde Hansa is a restaurant that offers an authentic medieval experience in the heart of UNESCO Heritage Medieval Old Town of Tallinn. It's a great experience, must try at least once in your life! You can drink mead from pottery kegs, food is historically accurate (for example, there are no potatoes to be found on the menu - after all, Europeans didn't know of the potato in the 13th century!), and all the staff is really dedicated to keeping the medieval flair! The bathroom is also thematic - no sink to wash your hands with, but rather a pot of water you have to tilt 😉

Pulla Bakery
The cinnamon buns are made in front of the guests,
baked on the spot! You might have to wait at times to get yours, since
they're constantly being sold out. Make sure to try out coffee with
Vanna Tallinn - it's the only country in the world where you can do so!
Vanna Tallinn is a local rum, and when served inside coffee, the coffee
is made sweet by adding whipped cream to it. ☕
PS. - if you are
lucky,
you
might get
to drink from a Moomin mug!
