The Beginning of a Dream

Japan has always fascinated me with its perfect blend of ancient traditions and modern innovation. From the graceful temples of Kyoto to the neon lit streets of Tokyo, the country has always felt like a world of endless possibilities waiting to be explored. Each story I read, music I listened to and every photograph I saw only deepened my curiosity, turning admiration into a dream to one day walk through the bustling markets of Tokyo, taste the unique cuisine, and experience the magic of the Japanese culture.

Walking Through History and Traditions

Japan's streets, temples, and gardens are windows into centuries of history. From Kyoto's serene shrines to the lively traditional festivals, every step feels like walking through a living history, where ancient customs blend seamlessly with daily life.

Seasonal Wonders

Each season in Japan tells a different story, from the magical cherry blossoms in Spring (Hanami) to Summe's water activities as well as the Aomori Nebuta Festival, hiking up Mount Fuji, and so much more!

Mount Fuji

Japan’s Mt. Fuji is an active volcano about 100 kilometers southwest of Tokyo. Commonly called “Fuji-san,” it’s the country’s tallest peak, at 3,776 meters. A pilgrimage site for centuries, it’s considered one of Japan’s 3 sacred mountains, and summit hikes remain a popular activity. Its iconic profile is the subject of numerous works of art, notably Edo Period prints by Hokusai and Hiroshige..

Hanami season in Japan typically occurs in spring, running from late March to early May, though the exact timing varies by region and year. While the southern regions start blooming in late March, the blossoms gradually move north, reaching Tokyo and Kyoto in early April, and Hokkaido in late April to early May. For accurate information, it's recommended to check the annual cherry blossom forecast (sakura-zensen) from the Japan Meteorological Agency, as the blooms only last a week or two.

The Aomori Nebuta Matsuri (青森ねぶた祭; "Aomori Nebuta Festival" or simply "Aomori Nebuta") is a Japanese summer festival that takes place in Aomori, Aomori Prefecture, Japan in early August. The festival attracts the most tourists of any of the country's nebuta festivals, and is counted among the three largest festivals in the Tōhoku region. It was designated an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property in 1980, and as one of the 100 Soundscapes of Japan by the Ministry of the Environment in 1996.[1]

The Owara Kaze-no-Bon is a traditional festival held every year from September 1–3 in Yatsuo, Toyama. Dating back over 300 years, it began as a prayer for good harvests and protection from destructive winds. The event features elegant folk dances performed by men and women in matching costumes and straw hats, accompanied by the melancholic sounds of kokyū and shamisen. At night, the town’s historic streets are illuminated with paper lanterns, creating a magical atmosphere. The whole community takes part, with eleven neighborhoods presenting their own processions.
