Adventure awaits!
Costa Rica is a spot of calm in a region of strong political
currents, with high education levels, stable politics and no
standing army. Agriculture and finance are key industries, and
turism is a major player, with surfers and wildlife watchers coming
here in droves. The rainforests are home to toucans, caiman, sloths,
capuchin monkeys and butterflies. Plus, the waves are prime, the
beauty is staggering and the slow pace of life is seductive. Of
course playing paradise to the worlds has its consequences. Now
two-thirds of the coast is foreign-owned and development often
trumps environmental concerns. Thankfully, there's a real focus on
sustainabiliby, with the country targeting carbon-neutrality, and
government incentives encouraging reforestation and conservation.
