About

Music does a lot of things for a lot of people. It’s transporting, for sure. It can take you right back, years back, to the very moment certain things happened in your life. It’s uplifting, it’s encouraging, it’s strengthening.

“The Land Before Time”, directed by Don Bluth (with production based around his Ireland-based studio), and executive-produced by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. Originally released by Universal Studios and Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment, it features anthropomorphic dinosaurs living in a somewhat fantasy-based version of prehistoric earth.

The plot concerns a young Longneck named Littlefoot, who is lost when his mother is killed by a Sharptooth. Littlefoot flees famine and upheaval to search for the "Great Valley", an area which has been spared devastation. On his journey, he meets four young companions: Cera, Ducky, Petrie and Spike. The film explores issues of prejudice between the different species and the hardships they endure in their journey as they are guided by the spirit of Littlefoot's mother.

Verse
Don't lose your way with each passing day
You've come so far, don′t throw it away
Live believing, dreams are for weaving
Wonders are waiting to start
Live your story
Faith, hope, and glory
Hold to the truth in your heart

Chorus
If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
Where clouds roll by, for you and I

Verse
Souls in the wind must learn how to bend
Seek out a star, hold on to the end
Valley mountain, there is a fountain
Washes our tears all away
Words are swaying, someone is praying
Please let us come home to stay

Chorus
If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
Where clouds roll by, for you and I

Bridge
When we are out there in the dark
We'll dream about the sun
In the dark, we'll feel the light
Warm our hearts everyone

Chorus
If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
As high as souls can fly
The clouds roll by
For you and I

Why is it special to Yen?

"Whenever I hear this song, some heartstrings of mine seem to be tugged. Perhaps because I am transported back in time, to the carefree days of childhood and good times.

Somehow, Diana’s warm vocals and the calming music seem to move me and evoke emotions. I feel touched and am reminded of my loved ones. Perhaps also because I was reminded of the aminated film where Littlefoot's mother passed away."

Message in the song

"The lyrics are motivating and inspiring, reminding me to hold on to my dreams, and walk on together with loved ones. It encourages me not to feel lost and to believe in my journey so far. There is always a glimmer of light and hope in our dark moments. There is always something, or someone, we can hold on to, no matter how bad we feel."
